Why are we being punished for the original sin? After all, they ate the forbidden fruit, we didn’t. Reason would lead one to say it’s their problem, not ours. Even the bible contradicts itself by claiming in Deuteronomy 24:16, “children shall not be punished for the sins of their fathers.”

Ya. Not to mention....being punished for gaining knowledge.

Is that just evidence of the church trying to keep people dumb and happy.

The sin of Adam and Eve allowed sin into the international. you won't be able to undo breaking a vase and if poisonous chemical substances are dumped right into a move, anybody downstream is affected. Deut 24:16 is God's admonition of how they're to punish. that's not the right of people to manage punishment to every person except the fellow themselves. God does say although in Ex 34 that he visits the sins of the moms and dads down for 3 or 4 generations. he's permitted to attempt this as He desires, or, probable, it really is speaking about outcomes the position generational affliction is worry-free depending upon blunders made.

Deuteronomy was a newer and very liberal set of laws that were much more lenient than God's original and only law, which was simply: You sin ... you die!

The nature of original sin gave Satan dominion over mankind, as well as all the earth.

Mankind was literally enslaved under Satan's cruel domination.

The offspring of slaves are, by default, also born into the dominion of the slave holder.

This is the nature of original sin.

Jesus came to destroy Satan's dominion, because man did not have the power to do so himself.

Doing so, Jesus freed man from slavery to Satan, sin, and death, made forgiveness practical, and grace effective.

But even today, unless one swears faithful allegiance to Christ through baptism, he is still (by default) dedicated to Satan, and an enemy of God, destined to share only in the eternal damnation of his chosen leader.

There are no contradictions in the Bible. There are only apparent contradictions, as regularly pointed out by people who don't fully understand it.

It's metaphoric! It's not a literal text, although in a mystical aspect, it is ultra literal in parts. Read it a few times and read about it's historical tradition and you will understand it. The original sin is actually about turning away from God and or truth and indulging the mind in false negatives (Illusions), however this actually serves a purpose in the scope of time. This fall from God or truth is what all humans have done in coming to earth. Don't just take others opinions or belief, study it yourself! Do some research and don't make such a fool of yourself!

Here's the part that you are missing... original sin separated mankind from God... We inherited that from Adam and Eve... just as one would inherit eye color or skin pigmentation from their parents... it's part of who you are...

Think of it this way... when they ate the fruit... they became separated from God by something like a huge gulf or chasm... Everyone that descended from them would be born on the side of the gulf their parents were on...

So, you're not being punished for what they did... the fact that you have a sinful nature is a result of your birth into this particular family... the human race.

MOJO!! You are back. And look at you. Back to your neat little ways of pointing out things your previous atheist friends believe just to try and show them the way. Good job dude. I like how you are making your point of...
Mankind had a chance to live as perfect in a perfect world, but he chose to do something against the will of God. He thought he needed to be able to have that which Satan tempted him for. Because of that, Adam and Eve became imperfect. It is impossible for something imperfect to beget something perfect, so over the years it snowballs into the cluttered mess we have today.
I think it is also cool how you point out the verse in Deuteronomy that people take out of context when they only quote PART of it and use an inferior translation. Looking at the verse...
16The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

Clearly, this shows we are all guilty of being sinners. You are not paying for those of your father and your father not yours, but the fact that we all are sinners, we will pay for our own sins.
Good job Mojo. Keep trying to lead people to Jesus in your own little way.

So your correct so far. But you missed the point. They were cast out of the Garden. Then they had the curse of thorns and thistles and women bearing children in labor pains. You can't take portions of the bible and merge them then use them together to make a fact. As far as I can tell you don't comprehend what you are reading.

Many sons grow up to be like their fathers. They often take similar jobs and have similar points of view. I believe its because the fathers impress almost everything about themselves onto their children.

Now for an answer to your question: I believe that since
Adam was a 'sinner', he couldn't help but to teach his children to be sinners

And I suppose you have lived a sinless life until now....

We are cursed by the actions of the first couple. They were created in God's image, after the Fall of Man all humans are born into sin. They are no longer in the image of God, they are born unto the likeness of man.

This is why you must be born again, to be in the image of God once more, you must be reborn into His image.

The story is symbolically related not literally. This possibly relates to the Adam and Eve who had to migrate from what is called heaven. this was possibly a place on earth where all human population was cvoncentrated during the last ice age. Aftet the ice started receding other opportunities stareted to present to the humans who then migrated to all over the earth.
