My congregation does not do this. It focus on the wrong thing to me. At my congregation, you can come in your best clothes, whether it is a suit and tie, dress, or jeans. We do this every Sunday, that way no one has an excuse to not come to church, because they could find something to wear. At one time, I did attend a church that did what your does. It was knicknamed "The Fashion Show" or "The Show" for short. It was so legalistic that I couldn't stand it anymore. I wanted to focus on loving and learning about God, and not what I was wearing or if I were going to be ridiculed for it.

Ya know man, I feel what you're saying. But let a homeless person come in and they would escort them out of the building long before they could even make it to the alter to pray.
I've seen Cafeteria employees treat the poor better than some Evangelical Church folk do.

I dont go to church so maybe im wrong but i would think that in order to go to church you shouldnt have to dress like your worth a million dollars. you should dress nice but isnt church supposed to be a place that you can go to be with others who believe the same thing as you do.

Anyways, to answer your question: NO, my church has no such thing. I would never attend a church that did! I'm not sure which part of your question disturbs me more, your self-centeredness saying, "to look good like me" or the fact that any church would do this. IMO, God doesn't care how you dress.
