being abusive, and you felt like you couldn't even express your feelings without the person becoming angry... or felt as though if you did, they might break up with you? (and the person's attitude is, "well, why would you want to stay with me then?!" INSTEAD of a "oh my god, i'm so sorry i made you feel that way!")

I left my country without my coat and 2 young kids to survive an abusive relationship.Then took out an injunction and restraining order.These type of men NEVER change.Get out now.

Yes, I have had this. And now that I have stepped away I wonder how I could have ever overlooked such a huge, disgusting flaw. Breaking away from that is the best thing that can happen. It will help you see that you are not the one with the problem. You said, "he was being abusive, and you felt like you couldn't even express your feelings without the person becoming angry." Something that makes you feel like this can never work. You may think you can fix him but you are not his therapist and even if you are, then you will be the one who needs fixing later.

He was more mentally abusive than verbally abusive and no, he didn't realize it. It took him YEARS to realize what he put me through...but I forgave him and we are friends now. It took years of hashing it out and getting over the hurt feelings--yes, he left me because 'how can he love me when he didn't love himself'. I'm glad I found someone who loves me and I love now....

I was with him for six years before I left. Wasted time I can never get back. Do yourself a favor and dont make the same mistake.

no one should live with someone like that. ask him to get some help and if he won't, then leave him. there are plenty more where he comes from. good luck.
