Mayans and Egyptians, coincidence? I think not.?

Question

How is it that two cultures, who supposedly knew nothing of each other we building similar objects that we call "pyramids"?

Is it a coincidence that the Mayans, who came up with an ending calandar and the concept of zero, knew nothing of the Egyptians but decided they wanted to build pyramids? Why? Who would come up with this idea except for the Egyptians and then the Mayans.

I believe that if the Egyptians were smart enough to find a way to build a pyramid then they sure as hell were smart enough to find their way across Africa and to the Atlantic and then to Central America as we know it today.

It's just too much of a coincidence that two peoples who were on the other side of the world from each other would be doing the same concept of building a pyramid and large bustling cities at the same time.

Who agrees with me? Who believes that it is possible that the Egyptians discovered America before Columbus and that the Mayans are Ancient Egyptians? Is it too much of a coincidence?

The Mayan calendar ends in somewhere in the next few years. Yes, I know this because we are studying this right now in AP US History.

Good idea however, the pyramids were there when the Conquistadors got there. The is where they performed their religious scrifices. So your theory doesn't necessarily work. But thank you anyway.

That's a good point you make.

It actually lends credibility to the Gaia Theory and Carl Jung's "Collective Unconscious" Theory.

The Gaia Theory is a 3,000 year old Theory that the Planet is actually a living organism and we're all part of it.

Carl Jung's Collective Unconscious Theory was that all human minds are interconnected.

Now that we have better Technology and know more about Medicine, Carl Jung's Theory made 60 years ago is more plausible now and the Gaia Theory has become extremely popular in the last 20 years.

The Electromagnetic Field surrounding the Planet interconnects all the Human Minds like Planet-Sized Brain Cells around the Earth creating a Cumulative Conscious generated in the same way the Electrical Field in the Human Mind interconnects all the individual brain cells.

The Electromagnetic Field is like a Planet-Sized Local Area Network with all the Human Minds attached as mobile Organic Host Servers that store data.

So, in regards to your question, you make a really good point about the question as to how two cultures that were on totally different contents that knew nothing about each other could develop similar technology.

When you've got the Consciousness of the Planet that knows what's going on and is transmitting information to the Subconscious Minds of the Mayan Culture and the Egyptian Culture, that's how you can have two groups of people that have never met performing the same operations like Organic Heavy Machinery.

People no longer believe in the concept of God. However, the Planet as a Consciousness would be the scientific explanation of a "God Phenomenon."

The Earth is just like a Planet-Sized Single-Cell Organism. Single-Cell Organisms are spherical and have a Plasma Shell Membrane.

The Earth is spherical. However, since it's made up of matter from the Elements on the Periodic Table, it has to use a different type of Shell Membrane that is made of that Electromagnetic Field.

Electricity is the only thing that can pass through all the Elements on the Periodic Table without the Atoms colliding with each other.

They've conducted reseach on Ghost Phenomenon. Researchers went to a supposedly a derelict building that was known to have ghosts. They set up 3 cameras from different angles all focused on one spot.

They videotaped that spot and all three cameras caught that ghost image.

I work in the Film & Entertainment Industry and anyone knows anything about Cameras in Film Production know that Cameras are extremely light-sensitive. Film Crew use a very special device that measures how much light is being filtered in when they do a shot in order to minimize shadows.

Those camera lenses picked up a ghost image from 3 different angles because the light passing through that space that the "ghost" was inhabiting was getting refracted causing light distortion that camera lenses will pick up.

That's how you get Supernatural Phenomenon about ghosts passing through walls.

The reason why that pertains to the Electromagnetic Field Theory is that it's electricity flowing through matter the same way ghosts are able to pass through walls. It's the transfer of data.

When it comes to the Consciousnes of the Planet, God would be the Forest and Human Beings would be the 7 Billion Trees. God would be the Digital Image and Humans are the 7 Billion Pixels that make up that image.

It's the same way all your Individual Body Cells made of matter create your physical body. It's the same way all the thoughts you have in your head at any given time are the cumulative of millions of brain cells.

That's why Earth is really nothing more than just a huge brain floating in space orbiting around the Sun.

I think it is a "coincidence." The pyramid shape was fairly common all over the ancient world because it's relatively easy to construct. The Ziggurat at Ur actually looks more like a Mayan pyramid than the Egyptian pyramids do. Remember, too, that pyramids were used for different purposes in different cultures. The Egyptians used them mainly as tombs, but the Mayans used them for religious ceremonies involving the whole community. I do not believe that the Mayans are simply transplanted Egyptians.

I'm not sure what you mean by an "ending calendar".

As for the concept of zero, many cultures have developed this idea as well, including the Babylonians, the Indians, the Arabs and the Mayans. See the link below for a fascinating history of Zero.

The Egyptians may have had the technological capacity to cross the Atlantic, but there is no evidence that they ever even attempted to do so, and the Egyptians loved to leave written records about what the Pharaohs had accomplished.

You would probably enjoy reading books by Erich Von Daniken. He has been expounding such theories for many years. As I remember, he writes well, but he is not very convincing from a scientific point of view.

Here's the deal on pyramids.
If you haven't invented the steel girder yet, and you want to build something really really high, all you can do is pile up a big pile of earth or rocks or bricks. Since you have no internal structure, if you go very high straight up your structure will collapse. Go out into your garden and try it. Or at the beach.
If you want to keep going higher the structure has to taper.
Since bricks are square it's easiest to make a square structure.
Square, taped structure=pyramid.
Not much mystery there. Sorry. I'd like to believe in your theory.
There are pyramids in China and Asia as well, all built in a similar fashion.
As far as an "ending calendar" goes, the Mayan calendar doesn't end. It rolls from 12 Baktuns to 13 Baktuns. Read any of my answers on 2012 for details or follow my links.

The Egyptian pyramids and the Mayan pyramids are very different, not only in appearance but also in purpose (Egyptian=tomb, Mayan=religious site, human sacrifice).

The pyramid is essentially just a shape. Furthermore, it is an easy shape to build because the majority of the weight is on the bottom. The pyramids in both cultures have survived intact for many, many years, despite neglect. Sky-scrappers are much harder to construct and probably won't last as long. Each year many large buildings are torn down. If your going to build a large structure and don't have modern technology, the easiest shape to make is probably a pyramid.

Mayans are not egyptian their Native American. Their pyramids are nothing like Egyption. Mayan pyramids were more decorated and had a shrine on top. Mayans speak a different language, look totally different, and only the Mayans had the number 0 not the Egyptians.

Actually here is my theory... have you looked at the pyramid pictures before? the scales and the structure? how they were built? The egyptians built the pryamids mostly likey from a map of the stars.. they used to stars as thier map rather :) and the Mayans used things like rocks and other things the measure thiers. They influence of the cultures didnt rub off on each other, which they shoulve if you theory is right...
I think it is a very hard question.. but look at the simple things before you analize the harder ones. :)

I dont think so. Ive heard other theories about that stuff as well.. One stated that it was the Atlantians who built both those..Becuase on one of the Mayan pyramids there were images of men who had mustaches and Mayan men didnt have them..I dont belive those though..There are many symbols found throughout the world..The Swastica was found in native american cultures and a lot of other places in the old world..

think as you wish but no proof means nothing to base a theory on, so nothing = nothing ( if you stack things then a pyramid is a logical result if you want stability )( and zero is not attributed to the Egyptians in any history i know ) it might be more educational if you pointed out the thousands of things that were not similar rather than the few that were

there are pyramids in some way shape or form on almost every continent of the planet...i agree way too much to be just a coincidence. Ive heard theories that the "people" who built them were castaways from Atlantis after it was destroyed in a natural disaster...hehe but then again that just opens a whole new set of questions

I agree, but I feel that these pyramids built in the MAyan times were prolly done by the conquistodors. becaues they rewrote history whereever they went. and Egypt was considered great for the pyramids, they wer ht MAth center at the tiem, And now thse countries who took over the lands of north and south america created these things to show to the world HEY LOOK WHO WERE CONQUERING? It was done to make them look better, thats how i feel.
