I teach mostly junior and senior high school, but I've also taught university classes. I HATE failing students. I really want my students to do well, to open their minds to the beauty and wonder of the universe, to learn and to grow as disciplined & educated members of their societies.
There probably are people who hold the title of "teacher" who enjoy failing students, but I don't believe they should be called teachers. In my opinion, teachers should be mentors who help their students understand whatever their particular subject is.

No, because if you have a high percentage of students that fail it ultimately looks bad on you.
Add to that most colleges have the students rate their professors and this affects their tenure. In would be in the professors best interest to help their students.
Of course a well earned F is well earned.

I would. Most college students are irresponsible and think they're in college to party rather than get an education. I feel bad for the students who actually do work and are serious about their education... I've been there.

Most of the professors I know help their students. But I do know some who enjoy flunking the slackers and assholes in their classes out of spite, but mostly because they deserve it.

No it is not true. Every teacher like that his or her class shold be full of students and they must take interst in the study and every should must be passed his or her examiantion, then only college or school teacher can be satisfied.
