I have puerto rican hair (if you know what I mean) Since it's extremely curly and voluptuous it will only stay down with Got2Be hair glue, but it's making me shed. What can I use that will give my hair a wet look, but still keep it soft and shiny. Not stiff and hard like gel.

Try Dove styling creme for curly hair.

It works great and is inexpensive.

You can use mousse with just a little styling cream. Also try garnier fructis natural hold not such a strong level thats what i use or just tone down how much gel you put in your hair

I find a combination of a gentle mousse with a styling creme keeps curls under control.

Check out www.naturallycurly.com; they have advice for particular kinds of curly hair.
