Try asking yourself why you are afraid of talking to people. What is the worst that will happen? They won't talk back? Most people are not that rude. Just start off by saying "hi" to someone and then go from there. Also, ask people questions about themselves and that will get them talking. Being in school is a great way to meet new people because you are constantly surrounded by others. Talk to people in your classes, suggest getting together to study, etc. Get involved in some organizations. If a teacher or coach is in charge, ask them to introduce you to some nice people. Just force yourself to talk and eventually it will get easier.

There's a great quote: "If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten." You may have to endure a little bit of discomfort, but it will be worth it when you feel more comfortable with yourself in social settings.

A good place to start would be to join an extracurricular group. Try to find something you naturally have an interest in, so you'll find it easier to start conversations.

Stick with it...feeling comfortable in a social setting is a skill you will value for the rest of your life. Good luck!

Even now it can still be difficult for me to talk to random people I don't know when I also have to choose something to talk about. You could start by putting yourself in situations, such as a club or activity group, where talking is a natural part of an activity or completing a task. If other people are there, too, then you also know you have something in common. (Nice rainbow!)

SMILE,it's the unspoken universal language. don't walk around looking like the joker!! comment on someones apparel, hair, cool phone(ring tone).
a nice gesture, helping to pick up papers that have dropped and spread all over. GIVING not lending a pencil /pen to someone.
group activities you are comfortable with.
COMMUNICATION hey we all have felt like that even in schools we've attended all our lives! tell someone the way you feel.
everyone can relate problems w/ siblings or parents don't have to get to personal keep it lite.attend church you'll always have a common interest there. one last suggestion volunteer to help kids at your local hospital maybe not the ones who are going to break your heart w/ their afflictions depending on how strong you are. also help at the senior citizen home brush their hair or just listen i promise you more sincere friends there they are craving attention and can give sound advice on lifes troubles i don't believe in luck so GOD bless. ps if you look like MM people should be talking to you!!!!!!!!!

I'm just like you, just knowing that there's other people just like you makes me feel better, but anyways just be nice, complement people, talk about anything I guess. I'm kinda stuck too?. To answer your first question I'm quite fine thank you very much.

Talk with your teachers and ask if they can assign a group project or if they could ask everybody to work in pairs on a homework assignment.

Start a conversation with a smile on your face (stay relaxed) and hopefully that should work.

Try to ease your way into conversations. That's what I do.
