"Money is the root of all evil" is a misquote from the Christian New Testament; the full axiom says that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil. From my personal point of view, when money becomes the most important thing in your life, you greatly increase the chance of doing something wrong to gain more that you might not do if money were not your primary motivator.

The actual quote is "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil."
I think what it means is that if we love (getting & spending) money more than anything else, we become greedy and selfish and have trouble relating to other people on a personal level.
Money is important -- we need it to pay our rent, buy food, get an education, etc. -- but if we let it be the most important thing, it can warp our sense of proportion and values.

Money is not the root of all evil. Greed/Selfishness is the root of all evil. Money is the seed of most evil. Money is so important because you NEED money, just to get by with the basic things in life. You need money just to buy water to drink, or food to eat... And then there's the fancy drinks, or foods.. And then there are the things we don't need for survival but want... Like a nice TV or computer, or a nice plane ticket to Jamaica.... So the people that sell you products (be it basic needs of survival, or something unessecary) create things at the lowest possible price and sell at the highest possible profit, which makes things more expensive, which means we have to struggle more to get by, which means we need to make more money, which means they get to sell things at a higher price, which means we need to make more money, blah blah blah... It's a vicious cycle. All it takes is a few greedy people on the top to affect a lot of honost people at the bottom

Money is NOT the root of all evil.....................
The love of money is the root of all evil.
Money is like fire. It can be used to provide and preserve life or it can be used to destroy life.
Money is good, if used properly.
So, anyways, that is what I can say about that.

actually, the i think desires are the root of all evils....but we need objects to put on our desires.......how about inappropriate sex??? the person wouldn't consider money more than his/her own fantasy.....it's our own desires which lead to our evil deeds.....
