Take if from me.. I went on an all fruit and veggie diet a few years ago.. I went to the gym everyday .. treadmill for at least an hour to 2 hours, did the weights the whole thing.. I lost relatively no weight..I went to the gym for about a year too.. Fruit is high in sugar, and does nothing to help you lose weight.. if you want to lose weight cut your carb intake to 55 grams per day.. increase your protein intake to about 27 grams per meal minimum 3 times a day.. drink plenty of water.. there are 7 grams of protein for every ounce of flesh..so you should be eating about 4 ounces per meal.. an egg has 7 grams protein.. have a 4 egg white omelet for breakfast, it's a great start.. eat your protein about an hour after your work out.

Eating fruits and vegetables is a common misconception that people have about losing weight. Fruit has a lot of carbohydrates in it and (depending on your body type and metabolism) could end up causing you to gain more weight. Maybe talk to your doctor and find out what is the best method to lose weight at your age, current weight, and depending on how much you want to lose. One way I know that a lot of people have found successful is the 6-day body makeover that was created by Michael Thurmond. You can probably check the book out from the library. But it is supposed to be pretty safe because it creates an eating plan based on your body type and you don't have to exercise a lot and you're not starving yourself.

How to Lose Body Fat
Losing body fat isn't difficult but it doesn't happen overnight. So ignore all the weight loss ads for "fat-burners" that claim you can reduce fat instantly, without effort! Such fat-loss claims are pure fantasy.

Losing Body Fat is Different from Losing 'Weight'
Note: losing fat is different from losing 'weight', because when we lose weight part of the weight loss is water and part is muscle. We're talking strictly fat-loss.

Best Way to Reduce Body Fat

Aim to lose a certain weight/body fat per week. Follow a low-fat diet (about 25 percent calories from fat), with plenty of fruit and veg and regular helpings of complex carbs, like whole wheat bread, oats, pasta, brown rice. Choose lower-fat meat and dairy foods where possible. Drink at least 6 glasses of water a day.
Combine this diet with regular exercise. Mix aerobic exercise with regular weight/strength-training to raise your metabolic rate and boost your lean body mass.
Take your body measurements before to start on your fat-reduction plan. Some weeks you may not lose weight, but you will lose fat, so monitoring your thighs and upper arms will boost your fat-loss motivation!

Top weight loss tips

Today there is too much information available on losing weight that has become more confusing and sometimes difficult to follow. It’s actually very easy to lose weight if you follow my weight loss tips.

* Be in right frame of mind
Before you can start any diet program you need to be in the right frame of mind. If you do not feel good about yourself you probably will not want to choose healthy foods. You cannot expect the act of going on a diet to make you feel better about yourself. The only way you can choose to eat a healthy diet to lose weight is if you have a positive self-image.

* Eat whole food
Top weight loss tips
Eat whole foods that are as natural as possible. When you eat whole foods that are full of nutrients your body will know how much to eat and how much not to eat. You do not have to count calories because your body is a wonderful machine.

* Eat fresh fruit
Eat at least two servings of fresh fruit every day. Choose whatever type of fruit is in season.

* Drink enough water
Drink the best weight loss supplement known to man, water. Most people do not know the difference from being hungry for food or thirsty for water. A great deal of times people eat when they should drink. Most likely you will not feel as hungry if you are getting enough water. You will be satisfying the thirst, which is confused for hunger. Water also helps you digest food better. Drinking water before you eat will help fill you up.

* Always chew your food
Always chew your food well. Chewing your food well will ensure that you get the most nutrients out of your food. Getting the most nutrients will satisfy your body therefore you will eat less. Another benefit of chewing well is that it helps aid in digestion.

* Take small meals
Eat small, frequent meals in a day. Large meals tax your digestion system, making it work harder. Taking too much time in between meals makes you hungrier for the next meal.

* Include protein at meal
Include good sources of protein at meal, chicken, fish, legumes, peanut, cottage cheese, eggs or yogurt.

* Shut off TV while eating
Shut off the TV whenever you eat – that includes meals and snacks. Studies show that we automatically eat larger portions when we snack in front of the tube, and typically those foods are high in fat and sugar, which means excess calories!

* Increase your physical activity
Increase your physical activity. Most people are over weight because of a lack of physical activity. Start walking more, bicycling, walks your dog for longer periods of time, swim, dance and leave the car at home when you can. It’s important that you choose a physical activity that you enjoy because you’ll stick with it.

Normal calorie consumption per day AVG for males it's 2,500.
Women is 2,000 calories..

Cut your diet down to 1,000 calories per day.
And stay off fizzy drinks with tons of sugar in it.
And jog like you never jogged before !
And drink tons of water everyday.... at least 3 litres of water

I would probably think 1lb a day?

Healthily, you could lose as much as 12 15 pounds. If you pushed really hard, and really watched what you ate, maybe 20.
