How do you say that the Babies are - Pure and Innocent?
Bhagavad Gita explains that souls are changing body and they get the next body depending on their past deeds.. Every one born now was born before and had a past life..
Human body is give only to very fortunate among the so many living entities, as a chance for them to Learn about God and get out of this material Suffering...
Otherwise souls have so many animal , birds , plants, insects, hellish bodies to suffer and enjoy their past deeds...
If some one is very very sinful then he is destined to suffer in Hell.. That is law of nature..
But in some fortunate cases even if a person has been sinful and is destined to go to hell, Still If he has lot of Desire to Know about God, he is awarded a Human Body and his sinful reaction is excused in terms of some deformation...
This Science of Reincarnation or taking Birth is explained in Bhagavad Gita.
It may appear very harsh to you, but it is Science or fact...
There are billions of living entities all over the universe but with hardly any chance to know God.. But humans are given special Intelligence to learn about God and free themselves from material suffering. Every corner of World there is religion.
Human Bodies are so rare that even the denizens of Heaven (not to be confused with Kingdom of God) pray for such chance to learn to love God,...
And these horrible atheist Scientist, spoil there life by some unproven theories ...
You should feel Sadness for that....
Any Human even deformed can reach perfection in love of God.. but even after getting mercy of Human Body if one does not use it... every one should feel very sad about it...

A lot of us ponder that question. Keep this in mind there are evil forces also at work on Earth. So that being said, this is not heaven, if it is perfection you seek, you will find it in Jesus, and heaven, not here on Earth. Christians are attacked by the enemy more than anyone, satan already has the unsaved, and the sinful ones. So why waste his time on influencing them. God allows suffering in this world. It is a test of faith, and my life was much easier not being a Christian, but I know I am doing the right thing, and the right thing is usually not the easiest. But you will be rewarded. And what is 73 years here on Earth compared to an eternity. The thing is everyone has eternal life, you just need to decide whether you will spend it in heaven, or in hell.

Why are you blaming everything on God? This is not God's fault. This is a result of man and the Law of thermodynamics. What you are describing is the curse since the fall of man. We did this to ourselves. God gave them the gift of life no matter what you or anyone else looks like. It is what is on the inside that counts. So instead of looking at people like they don't belong on this planet, why not give them support? Maybe God is testing you. God has a reason and a purpose for everything. Look at this way: Some of the greatest achievements known to mankind were given to us by handicapped people. Let's be grateful for what they can give to the world instead of how they don't fit some beauty magazine which is only skin deep anyway.

You are assuming that because their bodies are defective that their lives are poorer as a result.
God is letting nature run its course and have its way. Nature and humankind. Because while some babies are born with defects due to luck-of-the-draw genetics, others are born with defects because of atom bombs (Nagasaki, Hiroshima), nuclear power plant meltdowns (Chernobyl, Three Mile Island), their parent's alcohol or drug abuse, chemicals and minerals of all sorts (pesticides, mercury poisoning, etc.)...and the list could go on.
As for the former--luck of the draw--it is because God tends not to intervene in nature's path.
As for the latter--a lot of it is the result of people's errors, and God lets people make errors.
In any event, I have known many adults who were born with defects whose lives are not poorer as a result. You just can't go assuming that missing an arm means that you're somehow down for the count. Many are not.
As for those with severe mental retardation, it is hard to understand their reality, so I can't comment on that. Others who know more people with mental retardation could be of more use here.

All decay and sickness is the result of sin in the world.
The baby doesn't suffer if he/she is different it is the people around them that respond unkindly to the baby. When the baby dies he/she will have the same chance at a forever with God. Forever is tons longer than anyone will "suffer" in this life.

sin affects even the innocent. We are all connected and when someone makes a wrong choice it affects them and others thay may or may not ocme into contact with. God made this world and He made everything in it good.. When sin came into the world disease and decay set in- these are things that God did not intend for His people to suffer but we have chosen it through our sinful nature.. It rains on the just and the unjust alike.

We live in a sinful world, that man/woman has chosen, we have a choice, sin or repent. Man/Woman caused these defects because of the choice to sin. God is not going to force anyone to come to him, he wants us to choose him of our own freewill. As long as there is sin there will be birth defects and any other sad, awful thing you can think of. We have only ourselves to blame, not God.

According to Hindu religion its based on the parents and the childs previous lives.
According to Christianity God wants to test the faith of both parent and child.
I say its GOD's way to say "I also Make mistakes, learn from your mistakes"

well if god exists then i dont know why he would do this. yes it is sad that it happens but the world isnt perfect. maybe its a lesson. sometimes the ones who arent perfect and born like that are the most inspirational and the ones who make the most difference.
