What in the world.
Quit giving a leg for illegals to stand on by saying they do the hard jobs.
Legal teenagers do the hard jobs....they wash and walk the pets, they grease the machines, they mow the lawns, they hump the trash....the legal teenagers who can't have a college education work their way up in these businesses.
Quit hiring people who do not take the effort to enter this country legally...They may be good workers but they broke the US law...Illegals do not belong in the American dream.....
Thoughts?

You will find no sympathy here....a day without a mexican is fine with me....I've chopped cotton, picked beans, freakin' hate snakes....I can repair my car, snap and can all those beans. I'm not afraid of work. Now back to the question. Illegals should not be hired to do what we are capable of doing ourselves.

There are legal ways into this country. Do it legal. Be held accountable for. How long can people really defend people illegally crossing in....do you just need something to stand for.....I'll give you something...the Kentucky Wonder bean....lots of people love it but I say it's bean is huge and the texture is grainy and tough...there's a legit argument for you.

Corporations profit from illegal immigrants, taxpayers suffer...it is BS. I agree, make the teens do the hard work...they need to develop a work ethic and learn the value of the dollar! Very good point you make!

Can you imagine the difficulty and trauma it is to leave your family and go to another country where you know you may not be wanted and look for employment ?
If there was more accountability in the interest free loans we give to Mexico (which I don't have as an American citizen), funds through the IMF and other methods of funding, the citizens south of our border wouldn't come here to begin with.
How easy it is to blast and find fault with someone earning 50 dollars per day while others who are supposed to help those same workers go unscathed. Not a hint of criticism by the media or the people.
I don't ever blame a man for wanting to feed his family. I blame the corrupt government of Mexico for not helping its people so the workers who live in Mexico won't have the need to come to the United States.
Let's go after the top first and call President Vincent Fox what President Fox really is all about----being a thief.

How many of you came from illegals? In previous generations not many people came here legally.
I am 3rd generation American. My great grandmother migrated here during WW1. She came illegally.
It amazes me how many of you forget what this country was built on.
Do I think that the illegals should be limited in what benefits they recieve- yes I do. In many other countries you can't get any kind of assistance from the government for at least 2 years upon entering their country, whether legal or illegally. It should be the same here.

"Imagine"=John Lennon
"Imagine there's no country..."
I'm not really sure about this issue, but I know that most of the illegals are here for a reason. Most of them want to better their lives like any American out there. I just put myself in their shoes and think if I was them, I'd probably cross the border too just to have an opportunity.
If you're starving and have no shelter, you won't even think about if what you're doing is illegal or not. You would just be thinking about how to live today and the next day.

I agree with you 100%.
I have babysat, cleaned houses, done agricultural work, cleaned horse barns, etc.
I take care of my own house and yard.
If your too lazy to do your own work, hire someone who needs the money.
I think that people should hire teenagers, college kids, or just folks that need money or are down and out for all the jobs like those that need to be done.
We don't need illegals to do any of our jobs!
All those people who think we need a "slave class" where is your respect for yourselves as Americans??
They bring the wages of hard working Americans down if they undercut our wages!!!!! There are legal Americans who are on welfare that need money. There are lots of single moms who need a second job to support their kids, hire them! I had to work two jobs for a several years.

Again, the term "illegal" says it all, and is a slap in the face to all who work just as hard, and come here lagally. Have known a few who are real assets to our community, who have jumped through all the hoops, and still worry about being sent away. It's really not right.

You right on the money.
I think Mexico should give up it's country to Somalia and live just like them, the poorest country in the world while Mexico is the 13th richest out of about 180 countries that actually have economies and keep living that way before they have the balls to tell me that I have to give up my country and my citizenship and welcome poverty.

"The American dream" is exploiting cheap labor, always has been, always will be.The Africans, the Natives, The Irish, the Italians, the Chinese, Philippinos, and Mexicans have all been exploited for the benefit the rich, until they themselves become rich and could exploit the newer group.

You are so right if there were no illegals, trust me the job would get done one way or the other.
Now for all people that believe that it is OK to be illegal in this Country take them home and support them, don't let them on the streets causing pitty.

I would love to see one come and do my job. They believe it is beneath them. It's hard, nasty and dangerous.
Go to any other country without proper papers and see what happens: jail for at least 6 months then deported back home . if caught again jail for years then deported. third time some countries it's death or life in jail.
