i have had the cordless phone n the base for more then 3 years. then all when i moved i had to place it near my tv ( it was closest to the phone jack) in the past six months it has been breaking down. its display started getting messed up n there was constant static when talking on the phone. I wanna know if this has ever happened to anyone? could this damage be cause by the close proxitmity to the television? Or do u think that the phone just went bad by itself. im worried because i bought a new phone n i placed it in the same place and i am afraid that the new phone is going to break down as well.

Don't worry, TV doesn't have to do anything with that. Batteries too. TV can't interfeare with radio-waves, and battery problem is manifested by shorter autonomy of the headphone. I have a lot of experience in this field. I am sure that the phone just had some malfunction, eather on it's own (production error) or because of the bumpy transport.
So, your new phone will be safe near the TV.

It's always nice to help!

I doubt it has anything to do with your television. My last cordless phone started to go bad after a couple of years also. I checked into some things, and it ended up being the battery in the handset. They can, however, be very pricey. So if your phone isn't worth more than about $40, it's not going to be worth the battery replacement. I wouldn't worry about your new phone by your TV though. Should be fine!

sorry this is happening to you. here are my ideas on this:
1. you have to change the batteries once a year, you probably need new batteries. you can get them cheap from ebay, that's where I buy mine

2.very unlikely the tv is making the phone break. the tv may be interfering with the radio waves coming from the base to the receiver.

3. other things that cause static on cordless phones: microwave ovens, walls, electrical wires, remote control devices, cell phones, remote control toys, many other things

4. I have a 2.4 Ghz uniden phone and it works great-- had it for 3 years now with no problems.

all of them have wires! You mean cords! Yeah unload the stupid element. I used cordelss for many of the telephones I had for approximately 10 years. Batteries stored konking out, handsets does not cradle, occasional radio interference, hated the rings, hated the dialing, hated the texture. they only appear like junk whilst in comparison with a real telephone. Or little chinese language toys for a newborn to play with meant to look like a telephone! I mean they suck so undesirable often i'm surprised that one, I had them for thus long, and a pair of that others mechanically use them and save them. Now that i've got performed away with them completely, and use basically corded telephones, i for my section appreciate telephones returned. they seem time-honored and proper returned. I even went back to a rotary with the only upstairs. It seems effective and sounds great, and so do the others through fact all of them have actually bells rather of those man made sounds that stand for rings in maximum telephones now. i think of that folk in simple terms in simple terms get used to junk and junky telephones and that they think of it fairly is common. Then they forget approximately with regard to the version through fact it fairly is been so long. i think that stands for rather some the crappier corded ones too. So yeah, i could say bypass and finally end up a suited corded telephone returned. extraordinarily a 500 or a 2500 form. I even have an previous "Trimline" too. great for a bedstand telephone. D.J.
