if you have them frequently you really should see your doctor about getting on some medication.
If its not frequent, try to do some deep breathing exercises.

DEEP BREATHING EXERCISES
Breathing Awareness and Deep Breathing
1.Lie down or sit in a comfortable chair, maintaining good posture. Your body should be as relaxed as possible. Close your eyes. Scan your body for tension.
2.Pay attention to your breathing. Place one hand on the part of your chest or abdomen that seems to rise and fall the most with each breath. If this spot is in your chest you are not utilizing the lower part of your lungs.
3.Place both hands on your abdomen and follow your breathing, noticing how your abdomen rises and falls.
4.Breathe through your nose.
5.Notice if your chest is moving in harmony with your abdomen.
6.Now place one hand on your abdomen and one on your chest.
7.Inhale deeply and slowly through your nose into your abdomen. You should feel your abdomen rise with this inhalation and your chest should move only a little.
8.Exhale through your mouth, keeping your mouth, tongue, and jaw relaxed.
9.Relax as you focus on the sound and feeling of long, slow, deep breaths.
Complete Natural Breathing
1.Sit or stand with good posture.
2.Breathe through your nose.
3.Inhale, filling first the lower part of your lungs then the middle part, then the upper part.
4.Hold your breath for a few seconds.
5.Exhale slowly. Relax your abdomen and chest.
Practice these two exercises, in whatever combination feels best for you, for ten minutes, twice a day.

The only treatment i know of for panic attacks are anti-depressants or beta blockers, both which are used to calm the nerves. Self help can also work, depending on the reason behind the panic attacks. When you are having a panic attack, stop what you are doing and try and focus on something, look out of the window (if in the house) at the garden or something outside, the idea is to distract yourself from the attack, it works believe me!

As with every technique there is always a level of practice involved in the beginning. Initially you start observing but then suddenly get anxious about the fearful thought. That’s very normal in the beginning.
Keep at it. Practice and you will quickly see how less impacting those fearful thoughts become.
Do not let your mind trick you into believing that your anxiety is something you will always have to struggle with. That is simply not true.
Not alone is it possible to control the occurrence of anxious thoughts but I can teach you how to end panic attacks and general anxiety if that is your goal.

I have suffered from panic disorder for 8 years, been in emerg twice, and was housebound for 6 months, addicted to valium, etc...been a long road but I am 99% recovered.
What Ive learned is cut out caffeine, (or limit substantially), abstain from alcohol, and exercise 30 mins a day. thats most important. Exercise works WONDERS for anxiety and panic disorder. I dont know if its the endorphins or if its the use of excess adrenaline, but I have never felt mentally better since i joined a gym.
If you find youself becoming panicky do deep abdominal breathing. Breathe in from your nose and exhale thru your mouth. My doctor told me to do it to prevent hyperventialtion and bring down adrenaline levels.
If all else fails see a health professional. I dont recommend medication, because it can be mentally and physically addictive. But thats me and not you.
Ive read countelss books on this disorder and that has helped greatly. Educating yourself is a great tool. If you ever need support or have any questions pls email me.:

Face the things that cause you to have panic attacks. It's scary at first, and it takes a lot of courage to do it, but it worked for me. Good Luck!

My only suggestion would be to find out why you are having them.. There has to be a root cause.. something you have imbedded into your mind from an event in the past.. That trigger has to be located and eliminated.. not trying to treat the symptoms or the reaction. Some may even suggest it stems from a previous life.. still have to find and eliminate the trigger.
