i had an operation yesterday to repair the hole in the roof of my mouth. to repair it they took my toung ad stitched it up there! the idea id to have some of the toung tissue to become roof of mouth tissue. will it work? i go back in 3 weeks for another operation where they leave a small part of the toung up there and cure the rest back down so i may use it. what do you think?

if you dont like my grammer shuvit. i am in pain and dont want to coppy and paste in to word

i was born with ether a cleft pallet or a double cleft palet. any how it wasent a hole so much as...well it wasent asll 1 single pice so they went in and used my toung to fix it.

i am close to under weight...in 3 weeks i will be under weight. damn it!

M V, it's an accepted practice and works well. The tissue from your tongue is most like that on the roof of your mouth so the tissue should have no problem attaching itself.

There was a case in the mid-1930's where a man got rid of his fingerprints in that manner. A doctor stripped the layers of skin containing the fingerprints off of each finger and then stripped away a small patch of skin on each side of his rib cage and stitched his fingers to the patches. About 3 weeks later the doctor detached them and viola! no prints.

why did you have a hole in the roof of your mouth? I've never heard of such an opperation, i couldn't even tell you if it might work or not.
Is the hole from a cleft palate?
I've heard of operations done to fix problems like that, but i never heard of them using your tounge..but hey, i've got to say sounds like a brilliant idea..your idealy not loosing anything...i'm sorry your in pain though i bet thats rough.
