Ideally you should try to find a foster mother. Many vets and some shelters have female cats who can take the additional load of caring for orphaned kittens.

If you can't locate a surrogate then you will have be Mama Cat yourself.

You will need to get KMR (Kitten Milk Replacement) and a bottle. Mix the formula per the instructions on the container of KMR and bottle feed the kittens. They will likely need to be fed frequently, every few hours.

Keep them very warm as well. Create a nest for them as their mother would have. Use towels, but also use your t-shirts. It will acquaint them to your scent from the beginning. But the most important thing is to keep them warm! Their life depends upon this.

It will also be important to get the kittens to a vet so they may be checked for any potential health problems.

How old are the kittens? If they are only a few hours old you will need colostrum, it they are more then 24 hours old then you will need to start bottle feeding them every 2 hours; yes EVERY 2 hours. You can pick up formula at any pet store - usually. But you have to get that NOW. KMR is the brand I know of. If they did not get any milk from the mother then you have to keep them away from any and all other animals until they hit 6 weeks, go straight to the vet to get their first dose of shots.

If they have not had any colostrum or mothers milk in the first few hours then they have NO anti-bodies or immunities.

If you can't find a nursing mother to adopt them then you will have to dedicate yourself to their care for several weeks. You'll need kitten replacement milk sold at pet stores and if they are newborns you'll need a plastic syringe to feed them until they will bottle feed. Newborns need to be fed every few hours or so and you have to be very careful not to force feed them or you can give them pneumonia by getting milk into their lungs. If they get pnemonia they almost always die. As they get older they'll eat more per feeding so you don't have to do it quite as often. At 3 to 6 weeks or so they should accept milk from a dish and shortly thereafter kitten chow soaked in milk. Talk to a vet or an animal rehabilitator. It really takes dedication to do this.

you will need to buy a pet bottle as well as kitten supplemental formula at a pet store. cut an x in the top of your bottle using scissors or a knife being careful not to cut yourself. feed them every 2 hours making sure to set your alarm in the middle of the night as they still need to eat then. using a warm face cloth, after you have bottle fed them, wipe down the kittens whole body not just genitals this simulates the mothers tongue. place the kittens in a box with a heating pad set to low. they will need to be covered with a fleece sheet or thin blanket just to keep them warm. don't forget to feed them also water as that helps them digest the milk as well. good luck with your kittens and i am very sorry for your loss. p.s you'll have beautifully tamed kittens that are very gentle. i know i kept both the kittens that i bottled fed from birth and they're loves.(if you're kittens are cold WARM THEM UP before feeding them otherwise they'll go into shock!!!)

Make soup.

No, wait. That's humans.

Take them to the vet to make sure they don't have whatever killed the mom and get some general advice. They'll probably need some kind of supplements mixed into milk in the short term. Or maybe there are females who are suckling just a few young (and have extra teats).

Good luck.

bottle feed the babies every two hours using kitten formula (you can buy some at petco, petsmart, or even walmart). You also will need to stimulate the kitten's genitals to make them use the bathroom... this can be done by rubbing a smooth wet washcloth in these areas.

Buy a small eyedropper from any pharmacy, or even Walmart. Feed them Vitamin D milk - not skimmed milk, they need the fat -warmed to body temperature. Make sure they each get at a teaspoon or two. Soon you'll be able to tell when they're full. Feed them this way every few hours till you get to vet.

You need to contact the vet to learn how to care for the kittens. They require feedings several times a day. If you cannot do that, make sure you get them to an animal rescue as soon as possible.
