microgram and milligram the reason for the two is some meds only need to be taken in very small doses as overdoses can have serious and some times fatal consequences hope this helps gorbalizer

Thanks for your answer about 1000 micro grams in one milligram. I'm taking Biotin and the indication is one tablet a day. The bottle says "extra strength 5000 mcg" which means I'm taking 5 milligrams a day.
