Yes may be spread by skin-to-skin contact, as well as via contact with contaminated items such as hairbrushes. Ringworm spreads readily, as those infected are contagious even before they show symptoms of the disease. Humans can contract ringworm from animals; cats and dogs are often carriers. It should be noted that any contact sports such as wrestling have a risk of contracting the fungal infection through skin-to-skin contact.

Any ringworm is a fungal infection and antibiotics work against bacteria. So he is not on the right treatment and is still very much infectious.
Ringworm is a contagious disease. Hair/ Scalp ringworm spread by use of combs, towels, other things which are used in the same area by the affected person. Also by closed contact.
Oral antifungals are the mainstay of treatment. You need to meet a dermatologist who could prescribe a medicine for the same. Topical creams/ lotions can't cure the infections as they dont reach inside the hair. So an oral antifungal (like fluconazole, grieseofulvin or terbinafin) for about 4 -6 weeks is a must.

Yes, ringworm is very contagious. Antibiotics do not help! You need a special perscription cream / ointment to put on the ringworm area twice a day. Go in to the doctor or clinic and have it taken care of.

His hair or head? If he has it on his head, yes he can still pass it to some else. Just make sure to wash all his things seperate from everyone else and with hot water. My son gets ringworm also. Hes in the wrestling team and he get it so sometimes my other kids get it because they either get near him or sit where he was siting and he sweats alot . Wash his pillow and pillow case with hot water. you know what helps is Athletes Foot spray, spray it on the ringworm for a few day and it will kill it.

Till his ringworm clears, he will be infective.
Ringworm infections are caused by a fungus. This fungus is called dermatophyte-type fungus. This fungus causes ringworm in human body at different places. The infections caused by ringworm infections are also called tinea infections. Commonly ringworm affects the toes (athlete's foot), groin (ringworm of the groin) and body (ringworm of the body).
This fungus thrives in warm and humid environment. It is contagious. It can be transferred from animals to human beings and from a human being to another human being. If you have ringworm at one place in the body and if you scratch that place and then touch another place, you can infect yourself at another place in the body.
