I am traveling to China from the US to work for the next several months. I want to bring my Xbox but I don't want it thrown around by baggage handlers. I would prefer to place it in a small suitcase which includes the game console, converter and all the wiring electrical stuff and have it with me during my journey. With the new restrictions I am not sure if this is allowed... I will also be carrying on a lap top in a separate case. In the past it wasn't an issue. Can I bring all of this on board these days?

Yes, why wouldnt you. Dont over react with the carry on thing, Rumors have been going around that electronics arent allowed on the plane that is false. You can take that just in addition to everything you couldnt take before including, shampoo, toothpaste, soda, juice, any type of liquid, perfumes. ect..
NEVER ask the airline if you have security questions, always check with TSA the airline doesnt have anything to do with security.

I would call the airport itself and ask, I flew into chicago 2 weeks ago from Europe and I HAD to put my laptop in my luggage. I couldnt have anything with me on the plane except my ticket, passport and wallet. The rules are changing everyday and it also depends on where you are going. I am not familiar with travel to China, but I would make sure and ask the airport before hand. Also, if they make you put your xbox or laptop in your luggage, make sure the put 'fragile' all around your suitcase. They did it for me and my laptop still works fine :) Good luck to you and have fun in China!

You can still take a laptop on board a plane. They might have you turn it on to show what is on the laptop, and I took both my laptop and XBOX on board with me. It depends on your airline, however - calling them will give you the answers you need.
