I'd suggest you begin recording everything you eat and all your exercise to make sure there is actually a "calorie deficit". If you are burning more calories than you take in, you have to lose weight, though some people lose more easily than others.
Here is a system that worked for me when I was in a situation very similar to yours.
1. Eat three nutritious meals and three snacks everyday. Cut out junk food. You probably need about 1500 to 1800 calories a day.
2. Drink lots of water - at least 8 big glasses as day. Stop drinking soda.
3. Begin a simple but focused weight lifting program at home. Ordinary household items (tins of soup, for example) can serve as weights for beginners. Invest in a weight training book for women.
4. Buy yourself a pedometer and aim for 10,000 steps a day.
5. Record everything you eat and all your exercise to make sure you have a "calorie deficit". Two of the sites I've included will help you do that.
6. Park at the back of the parking lot instead of close to the door. Always use stairs - never the elevator or escalator.
7. A mini stepper is an easy piece to equipment to have at home and gives great results. I bought mine at a second hand store for $4.
I hope these thoughts help. Good luck with it.

Well, it depends on where u want to loose fat on ur body and what foods u eat. Greasy, unhealthy junk food is the worse kind of food if u want to loose weight. Workouts or just simple things like a walk around the neighborhood or a swim in the summer can be considered as exercise and can help alot.

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

Okay...F.Y.I.....This is long.
Well I am 5'3 1/4 and proud of my quarter. I have two small children. With my 1st, my pre pregnancy weight was 154 ( I had been working out to get from 166 to that 154 when I found out I was pregnant) I weighed 199 at delivery. With my second just a short 18 months later I weighed 174 when I found out and 199 at delivery. I ate pretty good, I was mom active also, and I breast fed my baby ( that really ate up calories with both children) that only got my weight down to 174 again. I had to make a lifestyle change.I was a sweet addict, knowing that's my weakness and where I would binge I cut out most sugary things in my home, I do have treats but on a much smaller scale and I treat them as such...treats I don't bring them home! Special occasion etc. I also stopped eating fast food....that was huge, if I am out which we as mom's always are, I pack my own snacks, I BYOW (bring your own water!) My goal is to drink half my body weight in ounces a day. That helps me to not snack idly, just because i'm bored or I have a taste for something. I also stopped eating four hours before bedtime. You should wake up hungry, if you don't you ate too much the night before, your body is still "feeding" off of that...in a sense. You want your body to be hungry a little while it's resting that's it's way of burning those resting calories-eating stored fat. Keep in mind you DON'T WANT TO STARVE. Starving yourself which I think you may be accidentally doing, stores fat it's called starvation mode. It senses stress it the body thinks that hard times are coming and stores fat...YIKES! That was me I would only eat when I was hungry( which sometimes was only once a day and never breakfast-bad!) instead of keeping "fuel in my engine" to "keep the motor going".
I have now added cardio workouts with weights to burn fat and keep my energy up, as well as build muscle. Since doing all of this I have lost 53 lbs. I weigh 147 and still dropping! My number goal is 135 and we'll see where I'm at then because I am building muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat.
So my questions to you is are you honest with yourself about what you are eating? Think of it as fuel, not what I deserve, but what I need.
What type of workout are you doing? Is it well rounded to burn fat as well as create muscle, which will help you burn fat at rest.
Are you getting enough rest? Not getting good or enough sleep at night will cause your body stress, stress causes the body to store fat, FAT equals fat on your body, which keeps you plateaued or gaining weight.
I hope this helps, these things may seem like a lot all at once, but they were small changes made one by one at first, that have lead me to my first successful major weight loss.
Good Luck.

Top weight loss tips
Today there is too much information available on losing weight that has become more confusing and sometimes difficult to follow. It’s actually very easy to lose weight if you follow my weight loss tips.
* Be in right frame of mind
Before you can start any diet program you need to be in the right frame of mind. If you do not feel good about yourself you probably will not want to choose healthy foods. You cannot expect the act of going on a diet to make you feel better about yourself. The only way you can choose to eat a healthy diet to lose weight is if you have a positive self-image.
* Eat whole food
Top weight loss tips
Eat whole foods that are as natural as possible. When you eat whole foods that are full of nutrients your body will know how much to eat and how much not to eat. You do not have to count calories because your body is a wonderful machine.
* Eat fresh fruit
Eat at least two servings of fresh fruit every day. Choose whatever type of fruit is in season.
* Drink enough water
Drink the best weight loss supplement known to man, water. Most people do not know the difference from being hungry for food or thirsty for water. A great deal of times people eat when they should drink. Most likely you will not feel as hungry if you are getting enough water. You will be satisfying the thirst, which is confused for hunger. Water also helps you digest food better. Drinking water before you eat will help fill you up.
* Always chew your food
Always chew your food well. Chewing your food well will ensure that you get the most nutrients out of your food. Getting the most nutrients will satisfy your body therefore you will eat less. Another benefit of chewing well is that it helps aid in digestion.
* Take small meals
Eat small, frequent meals in a day. Large meals tax your digestion system, making it work harder. Taking too much time in between meals makes you hungrier for the next meal.
* Include protein at meal
Include good sources of protein at meal, chicken, fish, legumes, peanut, cottage cheese, eggs or yogurt.
* Shut off TV while eating
Shut off the TV whenever you eat – that includes meals and snacks. Studies show that we automatically eat larger portions when we snack in front of the tube, and typically those foods are high in fat and sugar, which means excess calories!
* Increase your physical activity
Increase your physical activity. Most people are over weight because of a lack of physical activity. Start walking more, bicycling, walks your dog for longer periods of time, swim, dance and leave the car at home when you can. It’s important that you choose a physical activity that you enjoy because you’ll stick with it.

The first things you want to eliminate from what you eat are: sugar, fried foods, and white flour. You want to eat as natural and unprocessed food as possible.
Sugar, anything with it is bad. From Coco-Crispies cereal, nearly all sodas, to a small bag a M&M's. All turn into body fat fairly quickly.
Fried foods. Chips, french fries, etc. All have very high levels of calories and fat. Cut out mayonaisse while you're at it.
White flour. White breads, spahgetti, Ramen noodles, most cereals, tortillas (corn & flour).
Your going to want to eat 5-7 small meals/snacks in a day. That may seem like a lot of eating, but look at it this way. Say your lost in the woods and you need to make a fire that will last all night. Will the fire last longer throwing all the wood you've collected into the fire once or twice during the night, or if you toss a couple of logs in once every 45 minutes-hour?
Your body is pretty similar. You need to feed it a little bit every 2-3 hours to keep it burning fat. The longer you go in between meals, the more likely your body is going to store what you eat as fat. This is because your body doesn't realize that there is food everywhere in the world we live in. It still thinks your a cave-man. And cave-men didn't get to eat very often. Sometimes once every 3-5 days...starving. So our body is designed to store what we eat as fat, because fat has the most energy (calories) per pound. So, if you sleep all night, then skip breakfast and don't eat until lunch at say 11:30am...you probably haven't ate anything in 12+ hours. So, your body thinks your starving, that there is no food to eat. Then you eat a nice, greasy, calorie-loaded slice of pizza. Your body will then store most of it as fat because it thinks there is a food shortage.
Aim for 250-300 calories at each meal/snack.
Also try to eat 20-30 grams of protein at each meal. And of course, your going to want to keep even healthy carbs to a minimum (less than 80 grams a day).
The healthiest carbs are:
Yams
Oatmeal (no sugar)
Sweet Potatoes
OK carbs are:
Whole-grain bread/buns/tortillas (whole-grain should be the first name on the ingredients list)
Fruits
Aside from the carbs listed above, your meals should consist of:
Chicken breast
Turkey breast
Tuna
Salmon
Egg whites
Almonds
Low-fat cheese (cottage, string cheese)
Lots of vegtables
Lots of water
You need to drink 1 gallon minimum per day. Water is what carries the toxins and fat you burn off out of your body through your urine. It also helps keep you feeling full and does wonders for your skin. If your urine isn't clear like water, drink more.
Also, take a multi-vitamin (like Centrum).
If you were to do cardio like ride a bike or run for 20-45 minutes everyday AND diet, you'll be several sizes smaller in no time. But remember, losing weight is 90% about what you eat, not how much you exercise.
Bodybuilders and fitness models basically eat this way. Not only is it low calorie, low carb, high in protein and natural...it controls your blood/sugar levels and how your body uses the food.
Good luck!

first of all almost no diet pills actually do what they claim. secondly you may have an over-active thyroid. you should go to the doctor and tell them everything you just said including your COMPLETE diet. you may just have a slow metabilism. i recomend going to the doctor, but you could try only eating when your hungry, stay away from fried/deepfried/fast food. don't eat until you are full just eat till your not hungry, make sure you are eating a good amount of fruit and veggies. drink LOTS and LOTS of WATER it speeds up you metabilism. and GOOD LUCK!
