Actually this is a good idea, because like I was saying on another answer, Mexico has an immigration problem on thier southern border because people from Central America are going through thier country to get to the U.S. I think it's dumb that we don't just protect our own border, but there is good logic behind that, in essense we are protecting our own border. Do you think those people are crossing the border in Mexico to get jobs in Mexico?
They are smuggling drugs, contraband, and illegally migrating the U.S.

We shouldnt attempt to repair Mexico's issues however the united statesare the stupid ones who enable them to in so surely and now they're all coming and the Mexican government would not enourage human beings to pass to the united statesillegaly in no way have i ever considered a commercial asserting pass to the united statesfor a greater clever life. Why not? It's a short border and if the goal is to keep out Salvadorans/Nicaraguans, etc then it'll be very effective. Mexico likes it because that gives their illegals a better shot at America without the competition from other even poorer nations.

I say never give up. There's a formal process from immigration and we shouldn't make laws if we have no intention of enforcing them. We are enforcing them and with the drug trade down there - it's no picnic. Take it from a former Angeleno - So Cal girl.
