Hello again Rev. Trask, would you do it? As for me, trials should not be at night. Bless your thoughtful but inciteful sweet soul.

If Peter denied him, chances are high that I would too.

It is pretty to think that I would have defended him. Sometimes I think that I would have defended him. But then I have to ask, Who am I? How am I to be distinguished from those who loved him dearly and lived among him...who didn't defend him?

I also have to ask, Does God need me to defend him? Who would I be if I thought that this were so?

It is a great question, and it opens all sorts of speculation, but the fact remains that it is speculation.

I just have to look at what others did. And since no one who loved him was "sticking up" for Christ at the moment of truth, I can't find any reason to say that I am any different from them that is not delusory and self-congratulatory.

In any event, I am grateful that he died on the cross so that we may be saved.

This is an interesting question because years ago, I saw a movie with Demi Moore, "The Seventh Sign" (I think that was the name), anyway, good movie. She winds up at the end having to make a choice and in that scene I had a flash of myself making that decision. It was very spooky, let me tell you. I believe I made the right choice and stayed by Jesus's side.

Sanhendrin weren't so much a problem as the Pharisees... It was dangerous around either group of folks...and Paul came out of the Sanhendrin...after he persecuted (put to death) many Christians...

I honestly don't know what I would have done had I been there. I know what I'd do now...especially as we Christians are seeing more persecutions if you truly follow the bible (not the watered down modernistic "warm and fuzzy" stuff)....I stand on the Word and the Rock (as both are Christ) and will to the death.

Of course not. Jesus rebuked Peter when Peter tried to prevent Him from going to Jerusalem and also when Peter tried to prevent Jesus' capture in the garden of Gethsemene. God had a plan, and He saw it through. Jesus chose not to defend Himself before the Sanhedrin, "he opened not his mouth". Who would I be to step into God's plan and try to change it?

KNowing what I know now; yes. Unfortunately put into that time frame from birth more than likely not. I know that to save him would delay the inevitable death he'd need to take to save the sins of later generations, but I just think he died so young and wish he didn't have to do that...

Of course, this is a question that is impossible to answer. I hope that I would, but if I were transported back in time 2000 years, who's to say?

I would have to say I really don't know, but I know that I would probably like to stand along side him. I would have to look in His eyes and I am sure that he would know my heart. I think that only God knows what each of us would do in any given situation.

Just out of curiosity, what is your answer to this question.

No, I would've been the guy yelling "He casts out devils...with the help of devils!" LOL. I might've defended him if I was his follower or relative of him. It would have been cool to be Caiaphas, though. Oh, and during his trial before Pilate, I would've been among the Jews who were yelling "Crucify him, crucify him!", and "We have no king but Casaer!"
