Ignorance, superiority/inferiority complexes, stupidity, blind hate, lack of compassion...too many reasons to count.

Unfortunatley, because most believers of a religion think that "theirs" is the best and don't want to try to understand or accept other's belief systems, whether or not they are religious. Another reason which will probably never disappear is that many wars are based on people's religious differences and how it affects a country or countries bordering it. Alot of religious groups think they can use it as a power or catalyst so that they can be more powerful in the world. Of course the Middle East is a big example of this.
It's too bad we can't all believe what we want and have other countries/groups accept and realize they shouldn't change or try to politicize everything because of this.
It is a huge issue, which will unfortunatley will be a major problem in the world unless religion and politics are severed forever. (a pipe dream, I know)

First, human beings have the so called ego, which leads to the thought that "I" should be the good and correct one while others are wrong and others should follow my way.

Second, monotheism teaches that there is one true God and there is no other God. If one does not follow your way, something should be done to make them change. This often hurts other people in one way or another.

Third, there is a saying that I think is true to a certain extent, "Human being are self destructive creatures", apart from the fact that they always try to have better lives.

I am not tearing down anyones religion. I respect that everyone has a right to pick their own path. Just because it isn't right for me doesn't mean it isn't right for someone else. Maybe people do that because they don't truly understand the other person's choice. Some people are afraid of what they don't know. Maybe it makes them feel better to slam someone elses religion. I don't really know. I just know that I try very hard not to hurt anyone.

Becasue as a general rule people do not know what RELIGION is.

Relilgion defined by the world not is not God's religion. If we had true religion there would be a lot less hurt in the world.

James 1:26. If any man among you seem to be RELIGIOUS, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's RELIGION is vain.
27.PURE RELIGION and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

I believe that your question is important because this is why we have so much hate in the world and maybe even terrorism. I think it is because one we want to prove our selves right, and two it gives people a reason to be mean, My two cents worth anyway

I'm not tearing down anyone's religion. In fact, I don't even believe in religion--and neither does God. I'm elevating Jesus, who, by the way, did not found a religion.

I find this quite fascinating as well. I visit this section from time to time only to find the same old crap over and over. It is a bore after a while. I find it highly amusing that so many people can bicker and fight over something that they will NEVER, 100%, with out a doubt, know the truth until after their dead.

Humans are humans, they can't keep comments to themselves. Especially if it made sense, everyone who tore down religions probably just need to say that God doesn't exist because there is no proof.

Even if they are of the opposite religion, they may just think to highly of themselves. Another human who is too proud and can't keep comments to himself. That's all.
