It's perfectly normal, natural, and necessary. Anyone who tells you otherwise is living in a deluded fantasy world of ghosts and jesus. Even if you spent an hour a day doing it, it still wouldn't be as much time as you waste watching TV or eating, so why not have a little joy in life? There's nothing wrong with that. Better than cruising for chicas, getting VD, and such. But if you did have a gf, that's not bad either. Although, doing it right before sleep, while common, isn't the most exciting time of day to do it. You might change it up a bit and do it... I don't know... in the morning?

" OH come on Mom can't I do it til I need Glasses" Nothing wrong with it we are human men do it and woman do it and it is because sometimes of our self esteem being afraid of rejection because you like some one of the opposite sex or just plain waiting for the right someone like when you are mad you punch a wall or yell same thing but different expressions
