i have had pressure for 2 mths. the doctors have no idea what the problem is. they have looked in my ear and its driving me nuts! i hear crackling and a thump noise every time i swallow with the pressure also. one doctor said i might have tmj disorder but i read up on it and it doesn't sound like something i might have..please please email me back with suggestions. this is discomfort i can't handle very much longer. i need help quick/. even the ER doc's don't no whats wrong....it started when i went to sleep fine but use to use wax ear plugs and night. i woke up with this problem...nothings in my ear or on my ear drum no infections nothing....please help.......deanna .......please please

It still sounds like you may have fluid behind the ear or meniere's disease. I would go to an ENT (Ear Nose and Throat) specialist. Maybe a CT scan will identify fluid behind the ear drum that visualization can't.
So ask your family Doc for a referral if he won't do further testing

Ear wax problem. Tell your doctor to clean your ear and prescribe some ear drops for you.

Ear drops (and any oily substance) will usually block the ear for a while (soaking the ear wax) and cause some pressure, but the ear will clears up soon.

Try yawning or submerge your head in a pool of water (the deeper the better) for a while.

Are you a swimmer or have you flown on a plane lately? Also check into TMJ. The jaw can cause the same problem. Check on the Internet. Good Luck

it could be allergies.my son has the same problem and it wasn't an ear infection.he's on allergy medicine.maybe you should try that
