One of the main reasons for taking propranolol is to lower your blood pressure. Doctors specifically use it to lower blood pressure in people who have a risk of bleeding in the esophagus. The other main use for propranolol is for migraines.

Your blood pressure drop is significant. Were you symptomatic with that low pressure - the 80/50? Lightheaded, dizzy, nauseated, weak? And how did you know your pressure - are you taking it at home for some reason?

I'd speak to your doctor immediately. It is likely that you will need to change meds, but it is never a good idea to stop taking a medication without your doctor's knowledge.

What is propranolol?

Propranolol is a beta-blocker. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins).
Propranolol is used to treat tremors, angina (chest pain), hypertension (high blood pressure), heart rhythm disorders, and other heart or circulatory conditions. It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack, and to reduce the severity and frequency of migraine headaches.
Hemangeol (propranolol oral liquid 4.28 milligrams) is given to infants who are at least 5 weeks old to treat a genetic condition called infantile hemangiomas. Hemangiomas are caused by blood vessels grouping together in an abnormal way. These blood vessels form benign (non-cancerous) growths that can develop into ulcers or red marks on the skin. Hemangiomas can also cause more serious complications inside the body (in the liver, brain, or digestive system).
Propranolol may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

yes it causes blood pressure to drop. It's most commonly prescribed for high blood pressure problems (although can be taken for other things). Don't stop taking any medicine! See your doctor. If your blood pressure is dropping you may need to get your dosage adjusted, but don't do it yourself.

Why are you taking it? If it is for tremmors, talk to your doctor about other options. I am like you, I have good blood pressure but unlike you my blood pressure does not drop that low while on it. I am taking the same mg as you a day. But I spread it out throught out the day. One 20mg tablet 4 times a day. It works o.k. for me that way for me. It might work for you.

I THINK YOU SHOULD TELL THE DOCTOR WHO PRESCRIBED THE MEDICINE FOR YOU JUST TO MAKE SURE. ON THE SIDE OF THE BOTTLE, IF IT DOESNT SAY THAT ALL OF THOSE SYMPTOMS ARE SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN, SOMETHING IS EXTREMELY WRONG
