Depends what you mean by "God" ...

Before you answer this, get your Bible and read Deuteronomy 28:15-68.

How else can you describe Yahweh than as a vicious Monster, even Demon?

Fortunately, Yahweh is NOT God-- just a concept FOR God. And face it, Yahweh is a lousy God-concept. It's primitive and culture-specific to the ancient Israelites, a barbaric culture that no one should want to emulate.

And besides, THEY even got it from the Kenites, a Midianite Arab tribe.

Isn't it time you repudiated this concept, and developed a more advanced notion of the Supreme Being? Can you do this?

You ask: "Isn't it time you repudiated this concept, and developed a more advanced notion of the Supreme Being? Can you do this?" -- Sorry, humans can not reprogram the group mindset that took 1000+ years to develop. That's why the new religions are labeled "new age" - not "better more logical idea for your comfort"

You are looking for humans, all humans, to be more advanced then they can be. At best you can find a few, but they probably are smart enough NOT to rock the boat and cause attention to themselves. Humanities mental state has NOT changed at all. We are still run like a tribe concept, and it's been hundreds of years - sorry you were born in the wrong eon.

This passage refers to the old testament where people lived without a savior. It shows how life was when people lived their lives by the rules and regulations that would save them, BUT were also in their best interest. God doesn't give us rules and regulations for no reason, He understands the world and how to get through it peacefully. Think of a father with His children, if he set up rules for them to abide by and they deliberatly disobeyed again and again then there would be consequences. We are punished for our own good, it makes us stronger and better people. Thankfully we don't live in the Old testament, we now have a Savior who takes the burden of all the sin accumulated by all the peoples before and after Jesus lived. All He cares about is saving people. The Old Testament is the History, The psalms and proverbs are for hope and wisdom, and the New Testament is God's plan revealed to us on what to expect in the future. He has told us all that we can handle. The Bible is still the number one selling book in the world, Jesus is the reason. Even when people hate Him, He is still on their minds and in their hearts or else it would be so easy to just stop. There is evil, and wouldn't it make sense that because he is the father of lies and the promoter of pride that he would want to lead man to believe he needs no God, and the best way he can lead people away from God is to twist God's words to mean something they don't. I have just begun to start reading the Bible critically and really truly studying the word, and it baffles me sometimes the parallels that are linked between New and Old Testaments that were each provenly written at completely different times, prophecies that came to be. each word is significant. I want to suggest a book to you that is actually really interesting. I know you refer to the Bible a lot and this book is actually written by an atheist, but it is called to Bible code. I was amazed at it, it was really interesting, and I notice that you put a lot of research into your questions, and I really respect that so thankyou.

I don't really think gasing someone for overstepping the law is much better than throughing rocks at them. Nuking someone is so much better than stoning someone. Sending your youth to fight a war because you are too dumbassed to fix things diplomatically, that's alot better than the ancients. Or, this is my personal favorite, Pedefiles always make front page news, I personally love hearing about another pedefile went and raped another innocent child, potentially ruining that child's life (phychologically)

Actually, let's go back to the Romans, the ones who killed thousands of Chrisitians under operation of Emperor Nero, waay better than the Israelites. Or we can go to pretty much any democracy government ever and find that if you have enough money you can get exactly what you want.

We can't go with a more advanced notion of a Supreme Being because we're still just as primitive as when we first started.

First thing first, Yahweh IS GOD, in fact Jesus said "before Abraham was I AM A reference back to the burning bush, He was and is God, and if you check Isa 9:6 names like Father are interchangeable within The Godhead, now the monster, SIN not God is the monster, you live in A world where there is a total death rate, and God allows choice, He forces no one but with that choice is the idea of when you make a choice you talk the results of that choice as well, "For GOD "SO" loved the world that whosoever shall BE-LIVE in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life" "IF" you love me keep my commandments" Now God gives us time, but there is a point when God says enough is enough and allows your choice to be final, the last choice you will ever make is comming up, He is reaching out His nail scared Hands, your scars and saying I LOVE YOU, free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com I will pray for you, again YES Yahweh upon studying the bible you will find IS God,

Yahweh is the Hebrew name for God. It is not a concept. The Passage that you referenced in Deuteronomy is talking about the consequences of disobedience. God is not only Good, He is Holy and therefore cannot allow sin to continue. That is why He allows the suffering. Sin needs to be punished, otherwise the world as we know it would be in total chaos. You cannot take just one passage in the Bible and say that is your basis for saying that God is not good.

All you have to do is look at your own life to see if God is good or not. If you don't believe in God, then you really need to look at your heart.

God is good! From Deuteronomy 28:1-14 and previous chapters, wonderful things will happen to us if we follow God's commandments. You are only quoting the bad things that may happen if we don't. God is our creator, He knows what we need to thrive. We are complicated beings, wonderous and amazing. We need to understand this and how bad sin is for our lives. We were not made to sin and suffer, so naturally there will be consequences and "side effects" because we do and others do!

You answer your own question. I believe you are right. It doesn't matter what or more accurately who you call the almighty supreme. Just know that he or she, if you prefer, is perfect and therefore good.

"God's doings are all purposeful, intelligent, wise, kind, and eternally considerate of the best good, not always of an individual
being, an individual race, an individual planet, or even an individual universe; but they are for the welfare and best good of all concerned, from the lowest to the highest."

God came to earth as a man to die for your sins. Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: He did it all for you. Salvation is free believe and trust in what He done for you He died for your sins. Philippians 2: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Philippians 2: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: Philippians 2: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. The Bible calls a person like you a fool. Psalms 14: 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

And you have a problem with those verses because....?

I find it rather humorous how people are so "appalled" by such things. I suppose if I wrote dire warnings for my kids...that is, what the consequences of their bad decisions would be...that I would be branded an "unfit parent". Could it be that I actually care about them and simply want them to make good choices in life?

All of that was said because it was conditional based on the following condition.[we all need reminding don't we]

45 “All these curses shall come upon you and pursue you and overtake you till you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that he commanded you.

AND HE KEPT HIS PROMISE DIDN'T HE

He also made other promises that He would preserve them. You see God is a zionist !!!!! He is coming back to sslay Israel's enemies
