There are some good tips here. Just be sure you don't cut them while they're wet because the hair will be shorter when it dries.

My daughter is 2 and she sits pretty well for me, I am able to trim the back of her with minimal problems, however If i try to sit in front of her and trim her bangs, well we have problems. The way I do it is either wait till shes sleeping (worked when she was younger but doens't now because she is one heck of a light sleeper) or now I just sit behind her and pull it up, just be careful not to cut to much lol. Works for me

Depends on how old she is. I started cutting her bangs as a 5 month old. I'd make her look at my nose as she got older, then I'd hold her head, now seh's 7 and she knows she'll get cut or look ugly if she moves. Put on a video- it won't take that long.

I use the little eyebrow cutters. It kinda tickles my daughter when I need to cut her bangs. Show your child it don't hurt first by touching it onto your finger then they might let you cut there hair. It will take a little long than with scissors but your child will hold still.

you can only do it when they are in deep sleep. Unless they are very cooperative, and just sit there and let you do it. you can't really distract them because the bangs are in the front, you'd obstruct their view when cutting no matter what.
