This is very sad, and they do need to make putting dogs and cats down more humaine. The easiest solution to the problem would be for pet owner to take some responsibility and spay/neuter their pets.

Oh wow... that is the most sickening thing ever.. how could those men even be close to comfortable doing that?? That is so in-humane I can't stand it.. I adopt all of my pets from the shelter.. except my working dogs (I can't get them at the shelter) I am an active volunteer at 3 different animals shelters and donate $1,000 dollars every year to those shelters.. I just wish people had more love for animals like most people do! One day I hope that the gas chamber is unlawful and animals are not put to sleep unless they are in excruciating(sp?) pain!

Did you see on the news a couple of weeks ago about the Beagle that survived after 20 minutes in the gas chamber? Poor thing! It just made me cry. He has a home with a worker from the shelter now.

I watched the ur news clip and it reminded me when i had to have my dog put down because where i lived the people that lived behind us feed my dog rat poison and he was in a lot of pain so i had to have him put to sleep.I couldn't watch some one having to do that every day,it is heart breaking,I am a animal lover all the way.We give to our local animal shelter every year.I have got both of my baby's{dogs} from the animal shelter and they both have been spayed or nurtured even my male cat has been nurtured, even though he never goes out side.If there was away to spay my bird i would have it done to.{there is she never gets with a male.

Do you know what Breeders do with kittens, puppies, etc. that are not pedigree quality and they can't make money selling them!? The poor abandoned animals in the shelters need to be adopted and given a loving home. I have adopted several pets from local shelter. Your emotional appeal should be to adopt a pet and that would resolve the "gas" problem.

I know it's really, really, sad. But do you have a solution to the problem? There are millions of animal lovers out there that spay and neuter their animals. There are also a lot of animal lovers that support "no kill" shelters and non-profit. PetSmart has yearly pet adoption days.
There are people out there making a difference. You can too. Stop reading and watching scary stuff and do your part.

Yes, and guess what? That wonderful PETA are one of the groups that gas the most animals every year. And everyone thinks they are so great...that is the biggest crock of **** I have heard in my life.

I HAVE A FEW THOUGHTS BUT I DID NOT WATCH THE VIDEO IF YOU ARE ANGRY THEN YOU NEED TO MAKE UP SOME FLIERS AND GET OUT THERE AND TELL THE PEOPLE TO STOP BREEDING AND MAYBE SOME OF THIS WOULD STOP IT IS NOT THE SHELTERS AT BLAME IT IS THE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR ANIMALS SO TIME TO CHANGE YOUR SOAP BOX AND LAY THE BLAME WHERE IT BELONGS IF THEY WERE NOT PUT TO SLEEP AMERICA WOULD BE HIP DEEP IN UNWANTED STARVING PETS

Hi Regina...What is more disappointing it that PETA endorses euthanasia ! Here's a website to prove it. http://www.petakillsanimals.com/ It's a big dirty secret until someone researches their corporation deeper.
We need to find a way to prevent over population rather than contribute to it.
