Not sure, I always wondered why hot wings were served at pizza joints. I guess the celery probably evens out the spice in the wings.

It started out as a garnish with the appetizer, and when the wings were extremely hot people would eat the celery dipped in blue cheese dressing to releave the hot pepper taste, but there are no pizza joints in the south that serve celery with hot wings.

Most places serve celery and bleu cheese with hot wings. It's been around as long as wings have been served. The celery and bleu cheese helps cool down the mouth from the spice on the wings. Its just been in the past few years that places have begun to charge for the celery and bleu cheese seperately. I always order it with the wings. lol........where have you been?

Would you rather have pizza served with cold wings...?
I knew a lasagna who had a joint...Carmine Lasagna. Great place. the women were hot and the beer was cold...Then the Soprano's found out and Carmine hasn't been seen since he went for that car ride with Michael Corleone.
A pizza joint... I didn't know you could smoke a pizza. I'll have to try it some time.
Rather than have a pizza with celery and hot wings, try pepperoni.

Why would you order hot wings from a pizza joint? Order pizza from a pizza joint. Get your hot wings from a hot wings joint.

I once heard that the people who invented it live in Buffalo, their son and some friends came by and this was what they had to feed them,chicken wings, hot sauce,butter, celery and blue cheese dressing. They made what they had on hand. I personally thank them once a week when I make them for dinner. My family love them.

cause hot wings come with dressing like ranch or blue cheese and celery is good with the dressing

The celery goes with the dipping sauce. For ex. by dipping sauces like blue cheese sauce
