mmmmmmmmmmm pizza and beer...........
I guess it's tradition.
Although, the acidity of the beer cuts the creaminess and fat of the cheese while complimenting the tang of the tomato sauce. While the yeast in the crust brings out the yeast flavour in the beer. Like any great pairing their flavours compliment each other.
