Right. We acted out in school, bullied another kid, smart mouthed a teacher,we got a spanking at school and another when got home and guess what THERE WAS NO SCHOOL SHOOTINGS ALL OVER THE NEWS. We got our butts busted at home if didn't do what was told and we respected our parents and all elders. I have other punishments for my kids spanking isn't always the first one that use but if the crime fits that is what they get and I am told I have threee very well behaved and respectable kids. We live in a school district where the paddle hangs on the principles wall and is still used if needed and we have the highest map and scholastic scores in the area. If someone doesn't believe in spanking fine don't do it but keep their mouth shut when someone else decides to actually discipline their child and place a usefull adult in society instead of a spoiled, selfish, brat that thinks there are no consequences in life.

I am all for that. Although I had a natural fear of my parents and never did get a butt whooping, the "look" was good enough for me. But my brother who did really need it, and did get it turned out to be a fine specimen in society and himself has turned around and raised 4 smart, beautiful children. I do not agree though for schools to do so because some teachers may take it too far. I would much prefer the school to call me and let me know and I have no problem administering the discipline on school property.

I'm 15 now, and my mom spanked me when I was little whenever it was needed. I don't think it should be brought back into schools, just because there are too many parents who would consider it abuse, or if there was that one teacher who really did hit too hard and cause more pain than needed. Someday when I do have kids, they'll get spanked. I think there are still those few who still do it, but I agree that not enough parents do well on disciplining their kids anymore. (and I'm not even a parent!)

I believe you are right. We got the occasional spanking when needed. Not bad, but enough to get our attention. And I think my parents were right. I think us kids turned out better for it. I do give my kids a swat when they really deserve it. The only thing I don't agree on is in public. I take my kids to the bathroom or some place simular when in public. This is to keep from embarrasing them. But to let them know I mean business.

What did spanking do for you when you were a kid, it only made you angry, right? The bible also talks about slavery, should we bring that back, too?
The problem is that people have no parenting skills and they resort to violence because they know no other way. Parenting class should be offered to every expectant parent, especially people like you who don't know there are better ways available.
I was told by a black woman one time that they hit their kids so that when these kids grow up, they will aleady be prepared for the unfair treatment awaiting them. I thought long and hard about that. I even consulted with child welfare workers who were black. They thought it was horrible. So do I.

Spanking has never left my family. Discipline is not enemy, the lack of discipline is. We have allowed these children to raise themselves for to long and everyone wonders why they keep getting into trouble, they have no guidance. They need boudaries and I agree a spanking when necessary. Horray to you. Take back control of you children and just maybe we can save this generation.

I agree 100% percent if i am bad i get a spanken and my family is a happy healthy one my friends say we have the best family on Earth and i am 14 and i will spank my future kids,there isn't near enough disciplinein the World Amen!

Amen! We got our butts beat when we were kids, and we turned out fine. Alot less problems with our kids if we could go back to that.
