Allah is the Arabic language word referring to "God", "the Lord" and to the "God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob."

Most Arabic-speaking Muslims, Christians and Jews (including the Yemenite Jews, several Mizrai communities and some Sephardim) use "God" as the proper noun for "Allah".

Allah is found in the Qur'an and in Arabic translations of both the Tanakh and the Gospels and even in the Indonesian translations of the Bible.

With love in Christ.

itsyourspam...
you've said this a few times and people keep correcting you...

Allah is not the moon god. don't know what the #$%$# you are talking about!

Allah is 'God' in another language. Not sure if you know what the word 'another language' means in English. So here's an education:
In the Arab world the majority of the population speak Arabic, not English. Therefore, they don't say "bread" or 'water" they say "maya" and 'eshh". The word "God" in the language called Arabic is "Allah".
GET IT NOW?
A Christian can use the word Allah to refer to Jesus or God because according to Chistianity, Jesus is the Living Word of God so they are one and the same...pretty much.

GET IT? GOT IT? good.

Arab Muslims think Jesus is Isa, and Arab Christians think Isa is the son of Allah.

Jesus is the confusion among Arab Muslims who think Jesus is Isa, while their Christian Arab brothers and sisters understand Isa, and not Jesus, to be the one Christians worship.

The problem here is that Christian Arabs seem to have a better understanding of the Quran than their Muslim brothers and sisters, for no where in the Quran, the Arabic Quran, does Allah mention the name of Jesus, and Christian Arabs seem too proud of their Arabic to desert their mother-tongue for the King James Version of the Bible.

This should make the Muslim Sheikhs and Imams ashamed of their betrayal of prophet Muhammad and the Quran and Allah, but they never seem able to reason with Allah.

Quran declares the granting of a son to Allah to be a great blasphemy, yet Arab Muslims think that it is only a small matter of mis-interpretation that makes their brothers of their same race utter this blasphemy, and that they, Christians, are still within the fold of Islam but for this minor misconception, so they see them, Christians, as followers of Isa, when Christians worship Jesus and the Cross and really, like you are pointing out, have nothing to do with Allah and Isa.

Your information has been very helpful, ALHAMDULILLAH!

Ya Allah means my god. And why wouldn't the word Allah be written in the Arabic translation of the bible? Is Dio in the Italian translation or Dios in the Spanish? Of course.

The Arab people were originally polytheists; they worshipped many gods but Allah was their chief God.
Now, Mohammed had Christian and Jewish friends and learned those teachings. He came to believe in one true God and he believed the one God was Allah. He didn't toss out all of Christian and Jewish beliefs but rather kept the beliefs that fit with his own. He didn't believe Jesus is God but rather one of God's prophets much like himself.
For a time, the Arabs didn't accept Mohammed, in fact he was run out of Mecca. He later returned and took control by force.
Informed and loving Christians don't hate Muslims or anyone else. A true believer has to belief Jesus is the only way to heaven but a true believer does not force others to believe; Christians never have.
Most of the so called history about the Crusades, the Inquisition and so forth is incomplete and biased at best. Do people who claim to be Christian make mistakes? sure. Are there stupid and ignorant Christians? yes. Does God approve of everything people do in the name of Christ? no. But, the validity of the Bible does not stand on what some people do with the teachings; the Bible stands on its own merits; it is true truth from the living God.

I think Allah is the Arabic equivalent of English God. Don't see any harm if someone with Arabian background uses it.

Your co-worker(s) are wrong. God of the Old Testament is righteous. That's different than just angry and being bipolar. God is true. God in the OT was all about protecting the Jews and trying to get them to come back to Him. They are His Children and His Chosen People. Um...what does allah think of Jews? Well, apparently he turned some into apes and pigs. Doesn't sound very protective. He tells Muslims not to be friends with Jews and Christians. Doesn't sound like allah thinks of the Jews as his children. Oh that's right. Allah doesn't have any children. He doesn't care about Israel or the Jews, but God does. God has women prophets. Allah doesn't. God is Love. Allah isn't. God is Our Father. Allah isn't. God doesn't like divorce. allah makes it so easy to do: God never ordained polygamy but allah did. God has a covenant with Isaac. allah with Ishmael. God told us not to deny Him, even if that means you will be killed for your faith. allah says to lie to save your butt. They are not the same and only one is God. You figure it out. Qur'an 005.051 YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust. 005.060 YUSUFALI: Say: "Shall I point out to you something much worse than this, (as judged) by the treatment it received from Allah? those who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath, those of whom some He transformed into apes and swine, those who worshipped evil;- these are (many times) worse in rank, and far more astray from the even path!" 009.029 YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
