For Those of You Who Are An Older Sister I Need An Answer!?

I'm 13, my sister is 17. She keeps coming into my room without knocking, and when I ask her to get out she won't listen! She is always using my stuff without asking and she is always messing up my stuff like painting my bubblegum box with nail polish. She is always coming in when I want to be alone! Why is she doing this! Why do older sisters do this?

I think she just sees you as her little sis, someone she can do whatever she wants with because you're just a kid. I mean, it wasn't too long ago when you were just a kid that didn't really care about things like being a girly teenager, etc. It's just how big sisters are. I'm one and a have 2 and I know what you mean, though I've never done things like that to my little sis.

You need to have a serious talk with her. Sit her down and let her know that you need your personal space. You care about your possessions and you don't appreciate the things she's doing. Try talking to her, not yelling, and if that doesn't work, talk to your parents about it. You're just beginning your teenage years and that's a pretty important thing, stressful, exciting and confusing. You shouldn't have to deal with your older sister's immature behavior.

I'm not much help, but I hope things work out. You deserve to have your own space.

Not all sisters who are older are like that. I know I don't do things like that to my younger sister. Some may do it just because they're older and they can, or they somehow want some kind of revenge if a younger sibling irritated them or trashed their stuff when they were young.

You are into full bloom puberty and probably doing a lot more nowadays and she thinks its cool. Its hard but try and include her in some activities and let her come and "visit" her big cool sister in your room in return for her respecting your wishes!!! This could be a big thing in her life as she is entering puberty and needs you!!!!!!!!!!!! Give it a try and see what happens!!! keep me up to date if you don't mind!!

she's doing it as A) she feels she can, B) she realizes she's going to be going away to college soon & won't be able to bug you like that for much longer, C) she cares and wants to check in on you, D) wants to let you know that if you need to talk, she's there, E) realizing she's going to miss doing that stuff to do when she's out of the house.

it's because they feel that since they're older, they can do whatever they want to you. i know...i have a younger brother and i do the same thing (not the girly stuff, but the bossy, i can do anything stuff)!!

talk to her and with no rsults try talking to your parents..if worst comes to worst try hiding things or locking them up...got a clothers hamper in your room try putting things in the bottom with clothing on top, or in pockets of your clothes in the closet
