By throwing stones, do you not encourage others to throw stones at you?

And this accomplishes what, exactly? Some sadistic pleasure in hurting others? This is a satisfying way to spend your limited life?

Is your life so pointless you care not whether you achieve anything at all?

No. Everyone should try to be good and decent human beings, whatever the religion or lack thereof.

I'm not perfect, but I have nothing to be ashamed of. That's the great difference. Christians (and people in other religions, too) are manipulated through guilt. So they won't throw a stone, for fear that a stone will be thrown at them, and they don't want certain things to be said about them (things that are implied in being a good Christian). But since I only have the law above me, and since I haven't broken the law lately (not that I'm aware of, anyway) I can tell you what I think, because I'm not afraid of what you can tell me... Have I "sinned"? Oh yes, according to Christian parametres. But I don't care, I'm not ashamed, and you can tell me what you want, because it can't hurt me.

What does stone-throwing accomplish? Well, it makes the world better. If I tell you that your religion has been murdering people (and still does, when it frowns upon condoms, for instance) I hope I'll eventually prompt some of you to take a critical stand against that part of your church, and you'll try to change it or leave it. That way your church will be either bettered or weakened, and either way, we all win. I know my example was silly, but I hope you get the point.

And my life is not pointless at all. I spend a small part of my life pointing out other people's flaws. I spend a lot more working on my flaws, and enjoying my life. That's the point of my life. Actually, since I know this is the only life I'll get to live, I'm not saving for a future life a lot of pleasures that you're not sparing now, so you can use them IF you ever happen to live on, after you die.

I believe it is very clear, not to throw the FIRST stone. There is nothing about catching a thrown stone with a rubber glove and it bounce back. There is nothing that prevents me from swinging at a pitched stone. If I get a hit, I suggest the pitcher have relevant Fielding techniques. If they can't play ball, I suggest playing Checkers.

Good Q*.

Are we not casing the first stone here?

Just becasue I do not believe in any higher power, do that make my life pointless? I think not. Those that can not see that my life does not need to be filled with a god for it to have a point are the ones that lead the pointless life.

And yes I care very much about what I achieve in life, nothing is handed to me on a plate, I work my *** off for it.

It is human desire to enjoy winning when others lose more than when everyone wins or loses. If that is sadism, then sure, most people are sadists. I enjoy winning at the sake of another, but I don't torture kittens because I enjoy it.

I throw stones at people whose beliefs should prevent them from throwing them back, and yet were these stones real, my face would be black and blue. Thankfully, I am secure enough in my beliefs to laugh at the hypocrisy of others, and to fully enjoy my self-proclaimed winning of a never ending argument.

Yep, I'm perfect...and I'm throwing a stone...Oh, I missed you...maybe next time...Boy, that WAS satisfying!

And no, my life isn't pointless, and I'm proud that I have achieved a brain big enough to realize that christianity is not for educated people like me...

I only respond to antagonistic christian posts who deserve to get a few stones.

So "Are christians so perfect they can throw stones without fear of having stones thrown back?"

Yes, Atheists throw stones and get pleasure in hurting other's while the perfect Christians load 12 million people on trains, gas them, and put them in ovens...Those Atheists are so violent.

We did not start it. We are just getting tired of being tied on a cross and a fire lit all round our feet and all the time having holy stones tosses at us. We are only giveing you your stones back.

I have the same way of looking at your questions but in reverse. I feel you are so boxed in to your beliefs that you will never achieve anything. Most religion tells you that all you need is the bible. I am sure there has to be something else out there to do then set in a building giving your money to a rich man in the name of god. Morn the death of your god and beg not to be sent to hell.

Do you not understand how silly all that sounds? And to even think people have been killing others in the name of god for so long that it is scary.

So don't you feel like you are being brainwashed and scamed out of your money? I get tired of your holy stones and I will send them back your way most any chance I can.

Someone has to stop you from scaming others and creating more believers that think when they die they are going to some place great and kill me and my family because the bible tells them to ask for forgiveness and they will go to heaven no matter what they do.

I call you a sucker. Howmany years have you been allowing your self to get scamed?

Get out of it while you still have some life left to enjoy. Why live your life crying?

Do you think lieing to a god will get you to heaven? I mean you are only doing it because you are afraid you will go to hell. If it was not for hell you would not be going to church would you?
