Thanks everyone for answering. To the non Christians thanks I even enjoyed your open minded answers. What I meant by anti God anti Christian bashing was just that answers that are directly aimed at God or Christians. I think some of you missunderstood that. No I'm not narrow minded nor do I force my beliefs down any body's throats. I just know what I believe and share it leaving the choice up to you. If you can't see that then please ssshhh.

The Bible tells us no one knows the exact time for the end. The only thing we know for sure is we are closer to the end than we were yesterday.
If we think about the history of America we can see periods where people asked the same questions many people are asking today, "Are we near the end?"
Just imagine what people were feeling during the Civil War. The entire country at war with itself. Hundreds of men dying every day; tens of thousands being killed and wounded in every major battle.
Or think about the World War II era. Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Tojo; all anti-Christ type personalities. America was in a race with Hitler to develop the atomic bomb; it was a very real fear Hitler would get it first. Just think what he would have done with it.
The point is, people have not changed; every generation has watched terrible world events unfold; every generation asked the same questions. So far, the world lived through those crisis.
Perhaps we are on the brink of the final crisis; I don't know. But I do know that as Christians our concern is not whether we are near the end; but are we close to Jesus Christ? Are we living everyday as if it were our personal end?
You see, the end of the world comes for all us; for each of us the end of the world is when we die. Death can come at any minute. Are we personally prepared?
That is the real question. If we can answer "yes" then our whole duty in life is to love God and other people.
Do what you can to change the world for the better but have no concern about its end; the time and place in the Father's hands.

I love how you don't even want to read any dissenting opinions. Yet I'm sure you don't mind forcing your own opinions down other people's throats. So I'm going to answer you anyway. I am not anti-Christian at all. You just have a VERY narrow definition of what a Christian is. So here's my answer.

Probably about as close as we have been ever since people have been asking this question for the past thousand years or so. How close do you think people thought we were during the Black Death in Europe 650 years ago? Or after we dropped the atomic bomb? Or after any other horrific events that occurred in between?

Facts are, there has always been war, and there is always sickness and natural disaster. We just notice it more now because there are a lot more people and we've got the media to constantly remind us of it.

I think we are very close. Last night I watched a program (ABC) that talked about the end of the earth. A lot of it was really close to what Revelation talks about. They talked about plagues, and asteroids hitting the earth. Floods and earthquakes, volcanic activity. The Bible predicts all of that. I wonder what they will say when millions of Christians disappear.

China's army is really building up. The Bible talks about an army in the east with 200 million warriors. Persia changed it's name to Iran in the 1960'. There is so many signs. I think the time is so close. I feel sorry for anyone left behind. It will be terrible. Natural disasters, war, the antichrist, the one world church. I can't even imagine.

Come Lord Jesus!

The end of what? How are we more negative now than we have been ever since recorded history? Can you say when there ever really was a golden era? Wake up, dude...it's not about being anti anything but about looking at the facts! If it was written in the bible that crop circles were caused by evil rodent creatures from Mars would you believe all of that too??? Just be real...live by your faith and be happy...but don't post a question in this forum unless you want all kinds to answer.

my thoughts for a penny because no one knows not even Jesus , but the father in heaven only. But what do you think will happen when gas goes to $10 a gallon.Who and what people will be ruling the world then , and how will these antichrist look on the people who worship the one true God and His Son ."For then shall be great tribulation , such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time,no , nor ever shall be."Matthew 24:21 and if you think your getting raptured out read verse 22 and ask yourself who the elect are.

You and I will see Jesus coming from the sky :)

1000 years is like 1 day for God.
From Adam to Abraham is abt 2000 years (2days)
Abraham to Jesus 2000 years (2days)
Jesus to our present year 2000 is 2000 years (2days)
God always end His works in 7 days ( 7 is the number of perfection)
We are in 2006, we are living on the last generation, 7th days.

Soon. Very Soon.

Dont worry too much abt that, Live and enjoy ur life in Christ to the fullest!

+: For us Christian, we will be lifted up in the instant when the rapture comes (we wont be on earth when antichrist here), live in Heaven for 7 years, while antichrist rules the world, and we will come back after 7 years riding gloriously with Christ to judge the antichrist once and for all.

Sorry, I'm not christian. I'm also not anti-christian, nor am I faithless, I simply choose to observe a different faith than yourself. I'm also not anti-god, I simply don't choose to believe in him.
I say that we're quickly approaching the end of the society that we are currently used to because of the way were treating our earth. We need to acknowledge that even if there is a god he won't save us after the way were treating the home that he gave us. If you'd like to talk further e-mail me. (happiest_phantom@yahoo.com)

It certainly appears like we are living in the end times. But you have to remember that generations and generations of people have thought they were living in the end times. The fact is we have the ability to broadcast to the world now. We have the Internet, television and radio. Remember there is an event that is mentioned in Revelations that the whole world witnesses. The Word is getting out to all the world. Are we close? I don't know.

Read Mathews 24 of the Kings Jamed Bible

The abomination of desolation will sit on the throne and will show himself to be God. Replacement of Chrits. This is the Abomination that will let you know the end has come.

my view to the end is it could be coming close. looking at current events as well as stuff to come(such as the world wide ID program that passed) plus the many threats of wars in other nations. there is already plans being made for the temple to be rebuilt, which is another sign.it may be 2 years or ten, but if its another 100 with the way the world is acting now about control and being out of control, that's scary. we know that the first 31/2 years will be of peace, we must remember that the last 3 Will not be that way. but out strength and strong faith in Christ will being us through.

lord bless you in your walk with Christ.
