People may perhaps misunderstand certain things. Remember when Jesus had come, justice was already established by the hard work of the great men of israel. Justice was there in so many variations that it was finally time to introduce Mercy!!
What Jesus taught was personal forgiveness and turning the other cheek, not social turning of cheek. I will give an example to explain what I mean and understand.
If a bully is beating up a small little school boy, would you be callous enough to tell the little guy to give the other cheek and thus support the bully in his wretched activity? Would Jesus support the bully?
However, like Imam Ali says only THAT ONE can forgive, who has the power to punish! If the little boy forgives the bully, that would be great for the little boy, as he would not be burdened with the powerful emotions of revenge and getting even. However, until the bully meets his match, he will continue to abuse the little boys.
Therefore Islam says the GOOD SHOULD BE STRONG!! There is no compromise in that. The good must overwhelm the evil so that good is established in all directions.
In my personal view it is critical and important that those who kill the innocent for their cause be stopped on all sides, as this World belongs to the Almighty and everyone on this Earth has the right to live on it. Those who think only they have the right to live should be shown that is not the case!!
Ultimately giving the other cheek to the bully emboldens him to abuse others. But, giving the other cheek by the strong when they have the ability to strike back and they dont in the hope of correcting the abuser by other means are better and give him time to repent, but are ever watchful so abuse is not inflicted on the innocent -- for the meek and the downtrodden are those with whom the Lord will side in the final analysis. not the powerful ones who may wield temporary power on His Earth.

Well, turning the other cheek when someone is shooting at you in a war certainly doesn't work. You are going to get shot, so if you are a soldier, the only choice is to shoot back and hope you get the other guy first, maybe not kill if you cannot do it, but maim enough so they cannot try to harm anyone else.
Other ways of turning the other cheek is not signing up for the military so you are not forced to do things you don't want to do.
However, maybe the governments that get involved in wars should look carefully at the situation, and consider "turning the other cheek", if it can be done.

The New Testament definitely has a pacifistic tint to it. He did though tell people to keep there positions in life, including soldiers. Jesus also chased the money changer out of the temple with a whip.
The truth however can be summed up in this verse. There is a season for all things, a time for war and a time for peace, a time for killing and a time for healing...

this is cool if this is unique, yet various the time this is just one thing this is been finished in the previous. Or this is a million/2 a great gesture, like he tried to do some thing specific to look cool yet grew to become into afraid to get too loopy. once you are going to do it, then do it each and each of how! additionally, while this is a great promposal in front of a gaggle of persons, I think of it would be various tension to assert definite, it is bigoted. maximum heavily, it relies upon on the guy your asking's character. might they honestly should be asked the way which you're thinking of? If not, then do not do it - you're purely thinking approximately your self(attempting to show off to persons). i in my view might hate a public promposal, yet a private one faraway from persons could desire to be extreme high quality. do not pass over the suited if that guy or woman would not like over the suited.

I don`t know, In war i believe I would be even closer to God, because you never know when your next breath could be, I think If it come down to that I would pray that God would forgive me, for doing the things I was sent to do or had to do to stay alive, because as a human anyone I think would fight to stay alive.
