There are ways around it, but they change from school to school. In my school if you were in th Show Choir (the choir that does a 15 minuted show filled with lifts and box steps designed to look like actual dancing) it was counted as a P.E. credit. You could also do the high school musical because there was dancing involved. I think they just want you to have some sort of physical activity in your high school life. You can also look into summer school P.E. which can be me fun and less active then non summer school P.E. Find out what your schools policy is and exploit it.

P.E. is actually good for you! Shoot I love P.E. when I was in school. The main reason why you have to take it is because our country has become fat! People aren't taking care of themselves and getting regular exercise. It's been shown that children are beginning to become obese at a young age so the school systems are trying to stop this epidemic.
Think of it this way....Just have fun with your friends...and you will learn great ways to work out and have fun working out when you get older.

Most schools require at least two years of Physical Education including Gym and Health. You must have a valid reason and valid paperwork to be excused from taking P.E. classes.

Yes, I know it sucks. But unless you have some medical excuse or disability, I'm afraid you have to. Otherwise you won't graduate. I hated P.E., but you just have to make the best of it. And a little exercise won't kill you.

Yes you have to get one p.e. class in high school. I am in there and I have it this year. Do your best and you might get through it.

Yes. Our society is becoming less active (myself included). Obesity is a growing problem in Europe and North America. Enouraging an active lifestyle will not only benfit you, but also the health system in general.

It's not about what you want, missy, it's about what you need. Do you "want" to take English, math, science, foreign language?

Your physical and muscular development, coordination, balance, timing, and teamwork are all important. Also, exposure to sports like flag football, gymnastics, tennis, basketball, softball, are all important.

Do you think accomplished female athletes ditched PE?

Get with it, girl!

Physical education is a very important part of your life. Who knows maybe you'll find your place in life and end up in the olympics...besides that, it's important to exercise everyday.

You can have a medical excuse not to participate. Just get a doctor's note saying you aren't allowed to.
