What are your thoughts on purgatory? Do you believe it's a temporary hell until our judgement or perhaps it's where we are today, this world?

Purgatory is something the Catholic's invented. It's not in the bible and as far as I'm concerned doesn't exist...

Purgatory commonly refers to a doctrine in the Roman Catholic Church, which posits that those who die in a state of grace undergo a purification in order to achieve the holiness necessary to enter heaven.[1] This purification of the elect is entirely different from the punishment of the damned in hell.[2] The Catholic doctrine holds that the souls in purgatory undergo temporal punishment due to venial sins or as satisfaction due to their transgressions,[3] and that they can be aided by the prayer and sufferings of the faithful and the Sacrifice of the Mass.[4] Hence central to the Catholic doctrine of purgatory is prayer for the dead.

The Bible doesn't mention such a place! Jesus made the truth clear when he gave the parable of the rich man and Lazarus. The unsaved go to a type of hell where they await the final judgment. Hell is a one way street with no way out as everyone alive has the chance to avail themselves of a free pardon and free gift of eternal life. The whole business of such a place as Purgatory is a concoction of the Catholic Church and their end is foretold in revelations Ch.17 V1-9 as the Lord will destroy them during the tribulation for the same reasons given in the Bible. verses

There is no such thing as purgatory, it is a lie made up by the Catholic Church to get more money out of people by telling them they can buy their loved ones into Heaven.

Yes there is something like this, all though it is better described as spirit prison. At death the we either go to paradise or spirit prison. Later after the final judgement we may reach heaven.

Peter wrote that Jesus went to teach the spirits in prison:

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

Those that are in spirit prison will be taught and have an opportunity to accept the gospel.
