I sold some tee-shirts on ebay and the buyer paid me through PayPal. It has been over a month ago & PayPal had a $25.00 balance on my account. So I spent it on ebay and now over a month later they are trying to say the buyer used a unauthorized credit card even though they authorized it and now I have a hold on my account. I can't even use it! They should be responsible, they are saying I might owe it back. I'm so pissed. Has this ever happened to you?

Save your self alot of headache and open up another account if you want one. Just use another email address. They cant hold you responsible for the transaction either. You sold your product in good faith just like you use thier service in good faith and believing that they are a safe and secure way of handling your funds. Its not your fault if they slipped up along the way. You didnt spend money that wasnt yours it was money paid to you for something that you sold. Its not your fault that the ones buying were using someone elses money. Picture yourself as a store owner and you hire cashiers to be responsible for the money that is in thier drawers and being paid for merchandise. It is their responsibility to make sure all the bills coming into the store are good and not fake. That is thier job to make sure right? When all the money goes to the bank and the fake bill turns up, is it the owners fault that the bill is fake no . Its the cashiers fault. and in most places the cashiers are charged for the bill. Just like with your paypal account. You hired pay pal to handle your money they screwed up not you.

This has happened a few times for me.

I sell electronic products and occassionally I get the odd person claiming that their card was used without their permission and I have to refund the payment.

You can challenge it but in all likelihood you will have to refund it.

Its a pain in the A $$ but a fact of doing business!

No it hasn't and if I were you, I would definately be contacting the buyer. IF they come after you for the $25, you can go after the buyer.

It has happened to me,but with $1500. Legally your responsible, unauthorized credit card means it was a stolen credit card that was use. Don't be pissed, this is just part of doing business, these kind of things happens.
