I have been a registered voter and a licensed driver for over 25 years in FL. My last name starts with "K". I have never been called for jury duty. Someone told me they start with the beginning of the alphabet every year and sometimes never get past D or E. Someone else told me I must be on a blacklist somewhere? Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know how this works?

Florida used to use the rolls of registered voters. Now it uses driver's licenses. It prints out a list of potential jurors, computer generated and completely random.

When the questionaire is returned by the potential juror, a human goes over it and makes the decision as to who will be called. The balance is handled at the coiurthouse.

My last name starts with a "Y" and I've been called every 2 years like clockwork. Your friends theory of the alphabet is incorrect...but I wish it were :-)
