I feed my 9 mo old 60 pound collie 2 cups of purina puppy chow in the morning and 2 cups at night . At what age can I start feeding him 5 cups once a day?

Never. He will begin to need less food as he stops growing - not more. It's best to keep feeding a large dog twice a day. Too much food or water at one time can lead to bloat - especially if he gets excited. Dogs can DIE from bloat or need a VERY expensive emergency operation to save them. If you ever see your dog's stomach blowing up like a basketball, get him to the vet immediately!!!

How about if you could only eat once a day... Twice a day feeding is ideal. This helps keep your dog on a regular schedule and promotes a healthy digestive system. And your dog needs puppy food until he's about a year old.

Normally at a year old one feeding a day is sufficient. Read the recommended feedings on the dog food packaging.

yeah it would be best to keep feeding him 2 times a day. he can not eat all the food he needs for the day in one sitting.

For a dog of that size he's still a puppy for another year & he's going to need to eat 2X's a day.
He's still a baby & it sounds like he's going to be a big one. LOL

Well i do you should not really do that because your dog might start to puke because he is over eating. and you can't feed any dog that much food a day.
