Sanctification is a life long process. You become sanctified as you mature in Christ. You become more and more engulfed with Christ and the Scriptures, doing His will, becoming more like Him. The process will not be completed until you pass through to the other side. Then you will be completed in Christ. The words of John the Baptizer says it well, "He must increase, I must decrease".

Sanctified simply means set apart. The Lord sanctified the Sabath day. Set it apart as a day of rest. Sanctified the dietary law. Setr apart the foods you can it and can not eat. So are you that special that the Lord sanctified you from everyone else?

Sanctification is the process whereby a Christian becomes more like christ....some yearn for it to be like instant coffee....all sinful desires removed and boom ...instant super christian.....The reality is that it is a long and sometimes trying journey where all that seperates us from the holiness we seek is removed.....not forceably.....but through trial, scriptural investigation...prayer and life experience....we find ourselves at a closer fresher place with our creator....The book of hebrews talks about a sabbath rest for the believer where our own efforts are diminished......letting go of our will is how it works...but we give it up gradually...and sometimes kicking and screaming.........

Hebrews 10:10 "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Christ once for all." Christ died as a substitute for our sins. By putting our faith in Christ that we are saved from our sins through His death and resurrection, then we are sanctified.

Wow, some of these people actually pretend to know what they are talking about... interesting.

OK, it depends upon your religion. Even if I knew your religion, I would still have to know your particular denomination. No religion has a consistant practice throughout.

In short, go to your religion and denominational leader and ask this question to someone who will give you good advice.

Sanctification is being set apart from this world.

Study and read the bible.
Trust and obey God, follow Jesus. Christians have their citizenship in heaven, so as far as it is up to you stay away from bad influences. Once someone has received salvation our job is to stay in touch with our Savior, Jesus. "Pray without ceasing."

Look up references to sanctification. for example:
Romans 6:22-23 But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification
and the outcome, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I hope this helps. Keep asking questions - and check answers for yourself (so you know for sure) in your bible. If you don't have a bible the local libraries usually have them.

follow God's commands- if you have received Jesus Christ as your savior, then you are grafted into the vine- you are now a part of God's covenant with Israel. Begin to walk the Torah walk just as Jesus did. Pray and ask God how to follow His way.
