First of all honey, if you are a minor, you can't buy the gun on your own. And second, the $900 is an absurd amount for just a paintball gun. I have four boys and my oldest two have them. They also had to save for them on their own, but they purchased their guns from an on-line store for $180. They are top of the line quality, came with accessories and their friends are envious. Maybe your parents will agree if the gun isn't so expensive. I know I would not have approved them spending $900 either. Try finding a cheaper one and then approach mom and dad with that.

You don't provide your age which is a very important factor in this situation. If you are 11 or 12 I'd say absolutely not. If on the other hand you are 16 or 17 and have demonstrated responsibility in other areas then it should not be dismissed out of hand. 13-15 leaves you in the grey area and I'm afraid it's still your parents decision in the end.

Try and take them to a paintball field. My fiance is really into this sport and I didn't understand what it was all about untill I went out and saw it for myself. Try and explain to your parents that it is a sport, just like if you played football, you would also need gear. Try and get all the information you can and present it to them. I wish you all the best of luck!!!

you have to have proven that you can make responsible big purchases. also show a lot of research like the company or little details about the gun and shop for sales before hand. also for the next few weeks, brown nose it to the fullest

Tell them that you're a responsible guy and you won't use the gun wrongly and promise this to them.
Tell them they won't want to spend money because you got it which shows you are responsible due to you saved up for it

they probley dont want you to spend your money on something foolish. so convince them that you really want to get this and that it isnt foolish. say youve been raising this money for a long time. and that you raised it with this paintball gun in mind
