It is a religion.

What are "Quakers"? Quakers are members of the Religious Society of Friends, a faith that emerged as a new Christian denomination in England during a period of religious turmoil in the mid-1600's, and is practiced today, in a variety of forms, around the world. To members of this religion, the words "Quaker" and "Friend" mean the same thing.

Very much like the Buddhist. Very quiet and simple people that do not preach to the followers only meditation is the Sunday service. I used to work for a Quaker run health care facility and it was the most awe striking experience Ive have ever had. They do not believe in frivolous type of adornments for the home or their lifestyle. Just awesome kind of people!
