Ne se prennent doesn't mean anything on its own--ne needs a "pas" to make it grammatical. "Se prennent" by itself means be stuck to (conjugated for "they"), but "se prennent" most often needs a preposition to complete the expression. "Ils ne se prennent pas pour" means "They don't consider themselves" for example. (Obviously still missing something.)
