Why does it matter what they say anyway? Instead look at them as jokes because people who like to criticise others do so because of thier own lack of self worth. I know personally I have far better things to do with my time than to be going around being worried about other people. You are the only one that has to live with you for the rest of your life so as long as you are happy with your life dont trip and feel sad for those who judge you and try next time someone does to nicely ask them if everything in their life is alright and if there is ever anything then might need to talk about that you are there for them. Then let them know not to worry that everything will be alright. You will soon find that they will no longer be so quick to judge you.

1. If you are being criticized, be flattered. You've drawn attention to your creativity.
2. It's normal for people to critique life, whether they are authorities or rookies. So, let the attacks roll off.
3. Some times people attack out of jealousy, so take it as a back-handed compliment.
4. Don't be oversensitive. If someone has something valid to say, that can help you, try their suggestion. You've got nothing to lose.
5. Just do your thing and forget the kooks you encounter. They don't matter in the big scheme of things.
Good luck and warm regards.

My first answer would have to be that those people are ignorant. As long as you are happy with yourself then it shouldn't matter what any other person thinks or how they feel about you. I was in the same boat as you are a long time ago and a very intelligent person told me the same thing I'm telling you. You are a special person, you were made that way. Your life has meaning and apparently theirs don't. From your question you sound as you enjoy your creativity, so why would you let someone else ruin it for you.
I think you should enjoy your life and not listen to what moronic people think of you.
Good Luck!

Sounds like you have low self esteem, and nobody has ever told you that you don't have to listen to what others say about you. Don't worry about what others say; do what you think is correct and create your art the way you want to. Those who criticize it are probably illiterate in that area anyway. We need to feel good enough about the things we do that we project self confidence, then others are less eager to criticize us. Find some friends who are respectful and hang out with them. They will be nice to you and won't cut you down. Get rid of everybody who has no right to criticize you. But most of all, develop self esteem that allows you to ignore others.

Why? Why do you listen to what others say? Why do you allow their opinions to bother you? If you don't wish to be critiqued, don't seek the opinions of others. If you WANT an opinion, ask it only of people for whom you have respect.
Always ask yourself, "Do I really value this person's opinion?" Chances are, you don't -- which takes all the strength out of any criticism.
Live your life for you...and when people put you down, just give them a knowing smile and say, "Wow...thanks for sharing THAT." Then walk away. They won't know if they've been complimented or insulted -- and you'll walk away with the upper hand.
Good luck.

Because whoever is putting you down has low self esteem and must cut others down in order to bring themselves up. It's an endless cycle for that person that never gives them the contentment of truly loving themselves. Who cares if it isnt good enough for them? Its your one short life, do what makes you happy.

the only thing you should be concerned about is if you listen to these people, there are people in the world who like to put people down because they are secretly miserable. Just live your life the way you want to, you only have one life to live and time is ticking.

i hope you feel better now. is your pity party over? ok another 20 minutes then that's it! Look, you are the only one who has the power to change. everyone has an opinion, and it's easy to give theirs about you. it's ok, take it personally, then get over it. if you don't exhibit self confidence, you are a target for critisism (?). you are what you make of your life. recognize what you've said, and become different. hum, i think you're pretty normal.

Wow...a little dramatic aren't we? I am sure there are plenty out there who believe you are a wonderful human being. Start with yourself. Be positive and loving and you will have the love come back to you three fold.

Next time someone criticizes you, look them square in the eye and say, "Thank you for the input. I'll be sure to think about that while I'm writing your name on my list of people I hate."
