Scratch your crotch
Wipe your nose on your shirt
Fart
Belch
Dig your armpits
Drool
Comb your hair
Sneeze and cough without covering your mouth

The Q-tip might be a tad off, especially if it comes out looking like you spread butter with it... old butter.

A nail cutter is a little more acceptable, unless it's your toe nails... the sound that the cutter makes on those big huge yellowed nails echoes so loudly you'll definitely be the center of attention.

Of course it also depends on the restaurant you're in. If it's a Five-Star type with a Matre'd and such, you may want to refrain from both. But if it's the local McDonalds, then hell, go ahead... just make sure you pay attention so that you don't bite into that dead cockroach on your big mac while you're doing your nails.

Oh sure, why not. Yeah while you are waiting for your food sit back and relax , kick of your shoes and pull off your socks and trim those toe nails and while you are at it clip the nose hairs too. Its better tho if you chew your toe nails off tho since you dont want to scare off the other customers thinking your nail clippers are a weapon. In fact maybe they should install electrical outlets at all the tables so men could plug their electric razors in and shave while they wait and women could do thier legs and under arms. And maybe even have hair stylist on call so if you need a hair cut while you are waiting you can have that done too. Or maybe get your butt waxed right there at the table. A restaurant is a place to eat at not cut your nails or clean your ears and if you are using Q-tips to clean the earwax out from your ears you are only compacting it more inside your ear. Q-tips are for drying the outer part of your ear and are not meant to stick inside to be used as a tool to get earwax out. Try using hydrogen peroxide in your ears first and allow everything to bubble out then dry with the Q-tip. Your ears will thank you. Just picture sitting at your table enjoying a nice meal and the guy next to you starts clipping his nails and one comes flying and lands right in your food and you dont notice until its in your mouth and you are chewing and you look over and notice its the same guy that was using the bathroom when you were and was scratching his butt and didnt even wash his hands after and you just put one of his nails in your mouth. Yum Yum Yum tasty no ? Of course its not ok to cut your nails in a restaurant.

Nope! Neither one belongs in a restaurant, and it doesn't matter if the wax is running out of your ears, you tidy up that problem at home before you go out. And if you don't need a manicurist, then you don't need to fuss about nail cutters in the restaurant either.
We'll make a deal, okay? You don't do your grooming in the restaurant while I'm eating dinner, and I won't slurp spaghetti in your bathroom while you're getting yourself all gussied up.

Why don't you do these things at home? Do you only have time to do it at resturants? These places are for eating, do you really want someone elses fingernails floating around where you're eating? I know i sure dont! Also q-tips are horrible for your ears!!! they will only pack the wax so far down into your ear canal that the body wont' be able to work the wax out by itself.

not only is that bad etiquette, but it's also unhygenic. After taking a year of microbiology, let me tell you...the things you find doing cultures on public places is DISGUSTING. Just trust me on this one. I've become almost a bit obsessive compulsive about germs now. Your nails could go flying in someone's FOOD! Then what? and your earwax??? EWWWW! A restaurant is where you EAT, leave your grooming at home.

Perhaps you could also use your nose hair trimmer, take off your shoes and dust them with Lotrimin, whip out the dental floss, pop a few zits discretely and take your blood pressure and glucose readings. That would be really entertaining for all those people seated next to you.

No! Do not groom yourself in a restaurant. If you must, applying lipstick is generally acceptable. Also, please turn off your cell phone unless dining alone, then keep your conversation low so others don't have to hear about your business.

Yes, by all means if you would like to attract some very unfavorable attention by those who are trying to eat their food! Think of taking it to the restroom. (Hey, if you would like I'll go out with you so I can pick my nose, so we won't get waited on, so we can get thrown outta there and get barred from the human race now and forever!! )

It is OK. Also, ask for a port-o-potty be placed next to your table so you don't have to walk all the way to the restroom.
