I actually made instant mashed potatoes for thanksgiving and everyone said that they were the best mashed potatoes they have ever had! I think it's because instant potatoes are so creamy, and when you try and make mashed potatoes yourself it's really difficult to get the lumps out and get them to such a good texture like the instant ones have. So don't feel bad!

I make them all the time , way faster then peeling, boiling, and mashing them it takes 1/3 of the time
I do make the real mashed potatoes when I have lots of time or on a holiday when someone prefers them but otherwise it's instant for me!!!

haha... i do all the time. it fools them everytime. i had a huge part for fourth of july, and i cooked up some of thos instant potatoes, and everyone wanted the recipe for them. it was hilarious though (:

i make homemade and instant.....i like the betty crocker instant russet potatoes, tastes like the real ones!
