actually no, it was written by men yes, but it was designed to control the population in it's entirety. What became the Catholic church voted on what "gospels" to include and deliberately left out any that did not fit their doctrine.

Some that were left out were in the dead sea scrolls. Women were little more than property so it is unlikely that it was to control a segment of the population that was already under control.

I am a follower of the Tao, not a christian.

First thing first, Mankind is the proper word, man is A short word for that, in Jesus' part of the world women were concidered property with no right, the gospel which means good news if women were picked by Jesus would have destroyed the gospel before it got started, but GOD IS NOT a woman hate, the daughters of phillip were prophets, and the Bible [Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth] is A book which IF YOU WILL INVESTAGATE is inspired by God to give to you because you live in A world where there is a total death rate, which means you, so God provided A Bible so YOU can find [if you seek Him with all your heart] the Way out and His name is Jesus Christ the second member of the Godhead. The Bible was written by men with the support of the Spirit. Why wouldn't you ask a Christian about their Holy Bible? Wouldn't a Christian give more information and knowledge about it than a person who doesn't believe or who has never read it? That's like asking Burger King how McDonald's makes a Big Mac?

I believe that, in those days, you didn't have to write a book to control women, the sick couldn't do anything to protect themselves or to fight for their rights, so that option was also un-necessary, but I do believe that the original writers of the book were some poor people themselves.
There are books in the Bible that were writen by or about women, too, so not the whole book was writen by men.
Now, how they used the book later, that's a totally different story.

no...i just think it was written by several men who had wonderful immaginations. I do believe there was a man named Jesus who may have done some amazing things to help people and the community and that he may have inspired these writings, but i do not think he was any more than a human with a gift that touched people enough to turn him into what christians now believe, through writing stories that eventually became what people believe to be true.

No, it is not true. The Bible is the inspired word of God, put to parchment by men--and women (look at book of Ruth in OT) After all, women did have their share of strength in the bible.

Don't you think it would be great to live in a society where they said, "It doesn't matter if you are male or female?" That would be real liberty, eh?

Well, that is what Christianity teaches. There is neither slave nor freemen, Jew or Gentile, male or female, but YOU are ALL ONE in the sight of God and in His kingdom!

why leave us christians out of the debate?

we dont allow our woment to hold positions of authority in church, at least not in the baptist and catholic church.

if you are only trying to cause a rift between the christian and not christian religous groups, then you need to get a real life.

No. It was written under inspiration by God to bring all people to him, not to control anyone. Control is easier to achieve in other ways.
