Regardless of where you go, you will be taking a chance.
If you are unable to find a breeder in your local area, check with your vet, they will know who breed what type dogs. Check with more than one vet, everyone doesn't use the same vet.
There are sites on the Internet that cater to selling dogs. There is so much SCAM on line it is becoming a mess.
You can expect to pay between $500 and $900 for the puppy if it is registered, if it has to be shipped to you, add another $250. for shipping related fees.
These sites have postings on how to buy without being ripped off, but you still have to be very careful.
Check out these sites.

If you cant find any puppies you like, I have a new litter, look at my profile and send me an email, I will reply.

Well please please please do not buy from a pet store. Pet stores are grounds of puppy mills. Hundreds of thousands of dogs suffer in puppy mills in this country. The dogs are prisoners of greed. They are locked in small cages. They freeze in the winter and swelter in the summer. The dogs never get out of their prisons. They are bred over and over again until they die. The only way to free them from the misery of these horrid puppymills is to eliminate the demand for puppies by refusing to buy a puppy in a pet store and boycotting those pet stores that sell puppies. When people stop buying puppies in pet stores, the puppy mills will go out of business and the misery will end. The state and federal governments do not enforce the laws to protect the dogs. The commercial breeders and brokers have huge well-funded lobbying efforts. Please join this fight to free the prisoners of greed. The only person who is going to make a difference for the dogs suffering in puppy mills is you. You, the people, can free them from their puppy mill prisons. So please buy from a breeder or if you can, save one from the mall.

check the papers, for free dogs as a lot of people just want to rid themselves of unwanted pets and you don't have to pay the high price at the humane center.
